Whatcha got on order? (Traditional Knives Only)

You may already know that I "pulled the trigger" on the "Old Hickory" sticker (a 6" double-edged 1095 Carbon Steel knife for processing game and slaughtering pigs). I also plunked my money down on the Boker Plus Barlow (440C jigged bone handle). The Boker should be in my hands come Monday. I'm not certain how long it will take KP to deliver my "sticker" but it should come along sometime next week.

I caved and went for a burnt orange jigged bone GEC #74 Mustang in stainless. I'm so thrilled that GEC is doing stainless again, and three in a row, that I want to vote more, please with my wallet. :D

My daughter who lives in Madrid placed an order for me with a Spanish website:

JJ Martinez navaja de campaña, carbono y ciervo (carbon steel stag sodbuster jr)
JJ Martinez marinera 170PE espada carbono (carbon steel sailor's knife with spearpoint blade, abs handle, anchor shield, and bail)
Otter Workman 57-4 (carbon steel sheepsfoot blade, bubinga wood covers)

She's coming home for a visit in about 3 weeks and will bring the knives with her!

The question is, how long can you resist without asking "so, where are the knives?"? :D

I'm sure we can make it out of the airport, at least, before I'm compelled to ask!

My willpower broke. I spent a while vacillating between the two darkest camel bone #18s in stock at KSF and ended up pulling the trigger on the one that was the most uniformly green-ish. I think it's pretty unique compared to most of the other camel bone Beagles I've seen floating around. It'll pair nicely with my Russell and a few others. :o

Böker Congress 5464 with stainless steel blades. Coming in tomorrow, absolutely cannot wait.

I bought An Imperial h6 fixed blade to replace the one that acompanied my dad's old hatchet ( someone stole or lost it while my dad was in the army )

I saw it in a lot of sale picks that a forum member posted, and basically jumped right on it when I was quoted 18$.

When it rains, it pours. In this case, it was a tornado sucking money out of my bank account... :o

Been looking for one of these for a while.

Incoming! But it's not my fault, Flatblackcapo posted his Mam sheepsfoot the other day and that caused me to order this one.

Well, at least they're not #18s... :o

My Barlow Tour of the Far East has been a smash hit this week. I'm going to end up gathering a bunch for a group photo, I think, but I wanted to share what I believe is easily the Romo's match as far as bone aesthetics go. Securing this one was a struggle; negotiations ran for a while and almost seemed at an impasse, right up until both literally and figuratively the "eleventh hour". I probably paid a couple bucks too much in the end, but I still got most of the discount I was angling for and, frankly, I don't care about the cost -- I just like the way this beast looks. :D

My soon-to-come G.C.C.O. (Japan) large Barlow in scratted, dyed bone (dealer photos, pile side not great but best I could save):

I just realized I've obtained an alarming number of Barlows this week...

Found a New Old Stock Camillus TL-29 on the auction site for a price that I thought was very acceptable. I had been kicking around the idea of picking up a new Utica or Klein brand Electrician's knife, but I couldn't miss out on that Camillus tang stamp.

I was looking for a copper or small brass Mercator knife but somehow ended up buying two Otter knives [emoji12]

The first one is an Ankermesser: this pic from the dealer shows a stainless version, I ordered the C75 carbon one. The second one is a small "Jagdtaschenmesser" (hunting folder) and has really fat stag scales. Both are about 3,5 inch closed.

That looks very cool. I didn't know surfers needed knives, or fin keys.

I don't personally know any surfers who carry a knife. But if your leash gets caught, and for some reason you can't get the attachment loose, I imagine one might be handy.

You can tweak the performance characteristics of a board by changing the fin configuration.

Received the OH Sticker today, and it's just fine. I'll put a better edge on it and take it to the kitchen for a break-in period.
