What'd all you Hogs attend school for?

Computer Science. Though I could have had a minor in History. I wanted to be a History Major but darnit there just aint the money in it that there is in computers.

I earned my BA in Human Resource Training & Development with an emphasis in corporate training. A decent degree, but I have not been able to find a job with it.

Currently working as a correctional officer and 911 dispatcher. (and that's why my INFI collection grows so slow)

BS in Criminal Justice Studies; Spent 25 years being paid to play cowboys and indians as a Border Patrol Agent, now retired and getting paid to do anything I want.

I went to high school... sometimes. Barely graduated, then ruined my back and any chance to enlist :( So I started working, car wash, grocery stores, managed a bar/restaurant Cambridge MA at 22 :D and then was a chimney sweep in Boston area.

Now at 31 I'm a self taught surveyor, mostly hydrographic, own 5% of the small (one employee) company and am in the process of buying 17.5% more of my retiring bosses ownership to become an equal partner

Rather be lucky than smart!

I have a BA in military history and studio art, an MA and an MFA in drawing and painting. Yes. You can get master's degrees in drawing.

Started at local university for EE, found campus bar and skipping classes more enticing, switched to Business (no diff eq's :barf:), transferred schools, aced Business, looked at what was next, and just got a second bachelors in Finance.
Planning on going back for my Masters in a couple years.

That sounds similar to my experience. I started at a small engineering school in Terre Haute, but sometime in Calculus III I realized that I didn't want to be an engineer after all. So I moved back to Houston and passed through Fine Arts and Architecture before settling on Philosophy and History. And, of course, that left me nowhere to go but bartending or law school.

I made the wrong choice.

So... you went to law school???

B.S. and Ph.D. in biochemistry for me.

school :confused::o

I enlisted while still in high school, hopped on a bus shortly after graduation.

Uncle Sugar taught me enough about basic electronics that I was able to get a job after I got out.

Every time I changed jobs, I had to start at the bottom and work my way back up the ladder. 13 of the 15 companies on my resume no longer exist (don't you love high tech, disk drives ). Worked 'start-ups', if we're successful, I get to retire, if not, oh well I was looking for a job when .......

I've had the privilege of working for some of the finest minds in the industry, so, most of what I know I learned on the job.

Lately I've been playing with high density optical storage, it's fun bouncing LASER's off things, just don't shoot yourself in the good eye !

I think I'd like to be a Fireman when I grow up !

Add my name to the Physics list, albeit only at the BS level.

You were smart enough to get out when you could  :D

I once read an article by a very wise physicist, trying to discourage people from going the academic route with their careers. The money quote in the article?

"I've known more people who have had their lives ruined by getting a PhD in physics than by drugs".

 ;)

I have a B.A. in Telecommunications Administration from Weber State University.

I also received an A.A.S. degree in Sound Arts (audio engineering) from Ex'Pression College for Arts.

I attended University because it was The Right Thing To Do.

Like many here my area of study did not directly affect my career but it did set me on the path leading to the present. For that I have no regrets and for my BA in English Literature I also have no regrets. If I went back for more schooling I would continue to pursue the arts, either Philosophy or Comparative Literature.

BS in systems development and network systems.
Currently I'm a programmer, which is very giving when you take part in the whole process from concept to finished product.
The money is OK as well.

a whoppin ABA. Got her a year ago and Im still delivering pizzas. Had the intent of starting my own business after getting it but Im slippin.

I did manage to make over $200 more last week than my manager who worked ten more hours. And he worked hard while I drove, toked and jammed! Not the most respectable gig but atleast Im lucky enough to say I have a job during these times.

I went to school for the party...
and walked away with a BA in Liberal Arts too....
Now I make my living spending other peoples money to have fun. :D :foot:

So 230grains... don't think that you can't make some $$$ with that degree. ;)

It's worked out quite well for me. :)

.

I'm jealous, I do pretty good for money, but not like that. I think it's a matter of me just getting a degree and waiting for companies to throw jobs at me. Either way, I really need a specialized degree.

currently in community college with a 4 part major (potential for 5 separate a.s. degrees)
math
welding (concentration on tig)
machining
autotmotive

as of this upcoming summer I'll have finished all my a.s. general ed requirements and I'm almost to the end of whats offered for welding, starting on the newly developed machining curriculum this upcoming semester, and after summer I'll be moving onto finalizing the automotive and machining a.s.'s. Math is one of those life long learning applications where I'll take it in any gaps I have in offered classes, and continue it after everything else is said and done.

I'd also LOVE to get into culinary study, massage therapy, chiropractic, and acoustic physics.

I really wish I had the capital to do a 4 year college :(

I pursued a double major in English Lit and Philosophy. I left school because I had to get married. Obligations, or so I thought at the time. Worked a few years as a security guard after that.

College drop out, divorced, and living a rather carefree, and debtfree existence in a downtown condo that I own outright, with a pickup I paid for years ago.

My ex wife has a masters in health care administration and married a guy with a PhD in something like music composition. They've been living at her mother's house for the last few years.
