What'd all you Hogs attend school for?

i just finished a A.A.S. in Mechanical Engineering, job Market sucks.... I would take them up on that offer (if it was me) However i am afraid of cal2,3 and Deferential equations... so i am going to ride with this for a while till i can get some experience under my belt

You were smart enough to get out when you could  :D

I once read an article by a very wise physicist, trying to discourage people from going the academic route with their careers. The money quote in the article?

"I've known more people who have had their lives ruined by getting a PhD in physics than by drugs".

I had three close friends in the physics department in my class at Trinity. I went into the Navy (Nuke Officer) while the others continued on for their PhDs. While I am still nominally employed in work involving physics (radiological controls associated with spent nuclear fuel), they have moved on: one lawyer, one dentist, and one software training entrepreneur. I sometimes wonder what would have happened if I had chosen the "Piled Higher and Deeper" route.

I got my BS in Informations Systems Managment, but never used it. I enlisted in the Army and have been active duty for almost 20 years now.

Three degrees, Associates in Agriculture Business 2002, Bachelors in Agriculture Education 2005, Masters in Career and Technical Education 2006 all from Virginia Tech. Now you want to talk about taking a lot of time to get INFI? Try teaching. I love my job but the pay should be so much better if you ask me.

I am currently a 4th year apprentice electrician in the Wireman A program out of Local 26. The work is of sufficient interest and challenge and the pay is more than adequate for my needs.
(The apparent disconnect is due to my taking Jerry's motto "Let's Drink!" too enthusiastically for too long. I got sober in 2002 and had to start from scratch. If you are able to drink reasonably and responsibly, by all means, enjoy yourselves. I certainly enjoyed myself but it took its toll and caused some problems for me so I stopped.)

I have to throw in my credentials!!! Pre-med at West Chester University!

Soon to be a University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine student...hopefully:foot:

Ive got a PharmD in Pharmacy of course and an MBA....I have been thinking of going back for a JD but havent pulled the trigger yet. All my post college reading though follows cosmology and particle physics. its the most fascinating subject Ive ever....

Started out as a Marine and got an interesting education on what the rest of the world is like. After that went back to school and looked at several different things but really was not commitied. I finally got an AAS in Electronics and repaired eletronic devices for almost four years before figuring out there was no future in that line of work. Currently unemployed and working on my prereqs to get into the Nursing Program at the local community college. My end goal is a BS in Nursing and then work in either the ED or ICU until I have enough expereince to become a Flight Nurse.

I went to the University of Washington for a quarter right out of high school. Left the UW for a few years and earned my AA from community college. Went back to the UW Foster School of Business and earned my BA with a focus in marketing.

I now work for a major tobacco company and am in charge of over a $70 million territory at the age of 23. Not too bad if you ask me :D.

I attended university and graduated in mechanical engineering. Actually I do 3D modeling and CNC manufacturing. Unfortunately here in Italy engineers are not paid so well.

Safecracking. A very handy skill both for cash replenishment and more importantly used for gaining access to well protected INFI stashes.

I also have a B.S. in BS... :foot:

;)

I KNEW IT!!!:eek::eek::eek:

Nobody is born that good ... ;)

Me? Physics ... physics ... and then some more physics. Plus some national security stuff and systems engineering. Maybe some program management.

OK ... too much schooling.

It ain't a pretty picture, buddy.

Fortunately, I was also a military officer. Perhaps that saved me from the real excesses of the dour science.

Well after 4 years in the USMC, I worked for a few years then went to College as a Business Management Major.

spent 30 years in the NCDOC, pulled my whole sentence in 8 hour shifts, released on Oct 1, 2009 at the rank of Correctional Captain. now working for the North Carolina Gang Investigators Association, as a grant writer, instructor and doing meet and greet all over the US. still combating the dross of the earth...but it is fun making a difference and ridding our society of what the United States of the offended refers to as less fortunate.

now they want us to refer to inmates/convicts as residents, and gang members as community threat groups.

well not this ole boy, to much backbone for that and always in politically correct...sorry for the soapbox, just had to be said
