What'd all you Hogs attend school for?

Law school - fun stuff!

Prepared me well for a career in law enforcement.

In my undergrad, I had a lot of opportunities to study abroad, which was nice.

Its been a long and continuous journey:

Cornell for undergraduate - double majored in biological anthropology & archaeology and double minored in classical studies & economics.

Followed the green and worked as a broker on wall street for a number of years.

Decided to leave and enrolled full time at Columbia University to pursue a long time passion for teaching and received a masters in history education.

Have been teaching history to "at risk" youth here in the NYC public schools for four years now and love every second of my job.

With that said, I will actually be leaving teaching and going back full time for another masters in a month, this time at Hunter College, for a masters in animal behavior & conservation.

Big picture: my wife and I have always wanted to move to africa so I figure nothing would make me happier than mixing my background in finance/education/wildlife conservation and run or work for an african conservation non profit... :)

Big and exciting plans!

I set off to study Veterinary Medicine or Architecture with ambitions of walking-on to the football team at the premier University in Florida. I joined a Fraternity my Freshman year and found extracurricular activities (beer and girls) that several days a week of parties bring to an 18 year old. I fell into Building Construction (which is a College under the School of Architecture) and met my wife who is a Veterinarian (she graduated from Cornell Trailwolf). Kinda funny how things work out.

BA in Psych and English and Masters in Social work.

Wifey has a big old brain and she'll hit it big with an international NGO in a couple then it will be home with the kids, going hiking, gym and volunteer work. I hope!! :)

There do not seem to be many respondents who have worked in the fields they originally studied. If I were allowed to do my education over again I would likely go into engineering of some kind.

Another career jumper here.

BS in Business Admin from Ohio State (one year on the smallbore rifle team). Tried accounting for a few, have been in law enforcement for the last 18 years.

Graduated in 1978 from the University of Tampa with a BS in Biology, concentration in Marine Science. There are not a lot of marine biologist positions in Cleveland, nor jobs for biologists generally. Started as a Senior Technician for Glidden Paints in the Polymer Development group. Finished the BS in Chemistry in 1983. We have changed owners and names several times, shed product lines, bought other businesses; now after 31 years the company is Akzo Nobel Packaging Coatings, and I'm a Senior Chemist in Global Research.

I have MS in Math and PhD in Physics.
Worked in Academy, ran my own company, worked in private sector.
Majority of the time all this somehow spinned around computer science :)

Man, ANOTHER physicist... who would have thought so many of us would be into high quality knives??

I went to Uncle Sugar’s school for being all you can be….. They gave me a free book bag and even sent me down range so I could study abroad. You can’t beat that! LOL

I went to school because I did not think I had a choice. I was premed and I went to law school but my undergraduate degree is in psychology and my masters is in education.

mustard man, i am not surprised at all that you physicist would be in possession of some of the best knives in the world. even more kudos to busse knife company, that some of the most highly educated people in the world pursue their knives.

some of the most educated and highly trained people in the world are in possession of busse knives and use them in everyday carry. we even have world class knife makers that purchase the knives!!!
