What'll be your first knife purchase of 2005?

9mm, have you handled the Skirmish, or at least seen one up close?

Yes I've gotten to fondle, drool and slobber over a friend of mines. He bought number 3 in a production series just last week. In fact he got the 3rd in the new production series of both the Osborn and the Skirmish.

We took some photo's of the two knives and we'll be doing a post on them here in the next week or so. They are both awesome knives and I'd like to get my hands on them for more than just a moment, thats for sure! :)

I've got several knives on order and I don't know which will be coming first.
I'm going to guess that my bolster release auto from Tommy Ware will be first. I'm not much into autos, but this one is special. I first fell in love with this knife at Blade show 2001. I finally got to order one at Blade 2004. You would never, ever guess that this knife was an automatic.

The only knife that might come before that would be one from my buddy Tim Herman. If you know who Tim Herman is you also know that this knife will be special also. That's because he can't make anything that isn't special. I've been needing a Herman knife for about five years.

Hi everyone. I've been lurking here for atleast a year and thought it's finally time to post.

I was just an hour ago in my local bladehop with the idea to buy my first Benchmade. However, after looking at few different models, I ended up buying my first Microtech - Microtech Mini Socom Elite, plain edge, urban camo. It's very nice! It's VERY sharp! I think I love it already. Definitely my new EDC. :D

A working knife from Moore Maker or a Victorinox Alox. Which ever comes first. At least that is the plan anyway.

The one knife I buy this year is going to be a Szabofly. Unless Spyderco makes a smaller version of the Spyderfly. Then I'd want to get that too. And there is a small chance I'll give in to temptation and get one of those nifty all green coated Microtech bali's too.

My first knife of '05 was a Victorinox Recruit. The next one was a Vic Ranger (it's on the way), and the next one will probably be a fixed blade of some sort... leaning toward a Swamp Rat Howling Rat. :D

My 1st knife buy is my new Spyderfly.Great knife.I picked it up at "Rivers Edge Cutlery" in Dublin ,Ohio.Great store.

My next one will be a balisong, probably either a new Benchmade or Spyderco. I picked up a Spyderfly a few months ago and still really like playing around with it. It's also a good looking and handy knife.

Szabofly? BM42? BM4x? I'm hoping on having many well made production balisongs to choose from in '05.

Chris

I had no intention at all to buy another knife anytime soon but did need a new watch. The one I wound up purchasing is a Wenger that came with a SAK Esquire. It is now my oldest daughter's first knife. :)

Agree 100% that River's Edge is an awesome store. Mike, Brian and Ray are great guys.

I might buy the Spyderco yellow handle Pacific Salt since I like yellow handles and I don't have a knife with H-1 steel.

But I'm also interested in the new Evolution Wenger SAKs. Although I prefer Victorinox, I'm willing to try these new Wengers.

Good luck,
Allen.

Probably the szabofly or a waved Endura. Honestly I am having so much fun with the trading forums that I have only bought one knife in the past six months and on average I think I have had at least three new knives arriving monthly. Some stay many go but it sure does help my finances;-)>

Happy New Year

I have a Brian Tighe "My Tighe" on the way from Arizona Custom Knives. Hopefully, it will be here tomorrow. I would also like to get a Carson or a Mayo folder sometime this year. Maybe even a Mnandi. It all depends on the cash flow though.

Jon,
I've got three of them, you won't be disappointed. They are very solidly built knives. They are also my vote for one of the wickedest looking blades around.
Which model did you get? I notice Brian has a couple of new finishes for them. Here's mine:

Oily,

I ordered the BG42 blade with carbon fiber overlays. I am psyched to get it. It's supposed to come later today.

Great photo. I love that damascus blade. Is it stainless? How do you like it as your EDC?

Jon,
To tell you the truth I'm not sure if it's stainless, it hasn't rusted yet. :D I use a Tuff Cloth on it now and again just to be safe The only one I've EDCed is the middle one in the pic as the Damascas one is too nice and I couldn't bring myself to use the mint one with the switched clip while I had one that has some use scuffs and what not on it. Although the middle one also gets fingerprints on it by looking at it wrong.
What really amazed me about them is the weight difference between a My Tighe and a large Sebbie. The My Tighe is quite a bit lighter in the hand.
Enjoy your My Tighe, they are awesome knives.

Oily
