I own many blades, but a cheap cold steel spear point recon has served me through many tasks, easily resharpens, and feels great in my hand. For the money, I feel you can't beat it. It looks pretty mean too, I had someone ask me in Wal-mart if I had a pocket knife to help them remove a watch back at the Jewlery counter (not a task for a knife I know but I couldn't resist). I had it off hip and extended before their last word was uttered and the "oh, that sure is a kife!" comment felt great.
Thanks!
I was helping a friend at a gun show around 10-11 yrs ago and Scott had a table next to ours. It was pretty slow so we had lots of time to talk shop.
I placed my order with Scott and got my knife only a few months later. (just at $100 too!)
I've used it on several elk and more then a handful of deer and have never touched the blade! I'm sure Scott told me what the blade material was but heck if I can remember!
CRKT M16 13SF, with the old school teflon coated blade, the new coating isn't my speed. It's been to japan, estonia, kuwait, iraq, jordan, and everywhich place in the US. Had it for about 4 yrs now, and I love it.
