What's going on in your shop? Show us whats going on, and talk a bit about your work!

No going back now........the stuff is somewhat habit forming(understatement)
I'm in the process of finishing these ones up..

Yeah I can definitely see that. I only sanded up to 600 before etching. I etched it with apple cider vinegar. I almost thought I wasn't going to be able to use it because I found a cold weld layer after roughing out the knife shape.

Then I thought I was gonna have to grind all the thin stock away.
Solved that

it split like a log. There was a lot of mill scale where the weld didn't fuse

Nice job salvaging that:thumbup: I'd have probably chucked it in "the bucket":D

This one just came back from the engraver, you may remember it when I asked about tappered vs straight bolsters about a month ago or so. Now I need to do the finishing touches, sheat and take good photos :)

My early Christmas present! It's going to make a HUGE DIFFERENCE! To say I'm excited is a bit of an understatement!

Dude, those facial combs are superb!

I carry a small plastic comb to tidy up my 'tache and I also have one of those cheap balisong combs but the teeth are too thick to bother carrying it around to actually comb with. My advice is do your best to make the teeth as fine as you can.

A good fine comb does wonders for straightening out those stragglers and allows my 'tache wax to be combed out when it clumps and be redressed back onto other members of the upper lip. ;)

I think the pocket clip one would work best for me, mainly because waxy combs attract lint and a folding one would surely be a pig to clean on the go! and I can't think of that many times I've needed a bottle opener out there in the wild.

Please keep us updated as I may be quite interested in buying one! :D

Just got an AWESOME Christmas present from my mom! A 100$ gift certificate to Supergrit! How awesome is that!?

Gonna buy some rinowet and get to work on this!

Decided to make a mini cleaver to match the hunter I'm working on. It has an exposed tang on top and hidden tang on the bottom. I had just enough of the damascus billet to do it this way. I guess I've never personally seen a knife built like this either. I will be doing filework on the spine to match the hunter.
I had to mill the copper bolsters to expose the tang/spine, and milled a pocket for the tang to fit into the block of ebony.

Working with copper really sucks, specially when using an old benchtop lather from the 30's to try and make pins. My buddy just gave me the lathe and I don't have the proper tooling but I got the job done

Hey guys!
Hope you're all having a good Christmas!

A bunch of my YouTube viewers requested that I put together a video tour of the workshop, finally got a chance to do that the other day and thought you guys might find it interesting too!

As you might be able to tell I'm a bit of a neat-freak! It stresses me out when the shop is messy so I end up just keeping it really clean. Works out pretty well usually, if tools are displaced or there's a lot of mess then it's usually a signal for me that some process is not laid out as well as it could be!

I've wanted something like this shop for a really long time so I'm really thankful to have it! It's a great place for me to go and relax after work and so on. Occasionally I make knives there too :)

I updated this in another post but figured I would post it here also. This is my first kitchen knife. 1/8 inch 1095 and dymondwood handle. The top pin is off a little and I'm going to grind the next one a little thinner. I'm waiting on my platen liner to show up so I can get back to grinding.
