Still the single best damascus steel I've ever seen. Now hurry up and make loads more and show everyone how awesome it should look.
Thank you
I ordered most of the parts for a press last night. Now I am looking for a 5 hp motor. Jess

Finished up a few cool pieces recently. Here's a monster Bolo machete from 52100 and my favorite mid sized model the Fjord hiker. About to send off a big batch of them in Zwear to HT this week.

Mixing old with the new,Lighting Strike carbon fiber on a slip joint.
3/32" CPM blade and spring 3-3/4" closed

My first damascus blade with more than 11 layers........rough ground and quick etched just to see what she looks like.
9 inch blade.........120 layers 1084 and 15n20 from Aldo..............this is very addicting.
Oh yeah, probably should add, that this was done with hand hammers only........no power hammer or press.
Darcy:)

Wow! Nice job!!

Wow that is spectacular! Amazing fit and finish and I love the combo of an older, classic looking design mixed with the new carbon fiber look.

Oh man I love classic slip joints and I love that lightening strike carbon fiber. Awesome knife!

In my shop...I just landed a new KBAC drive off of ebay for $125 total(really pumped about that deal), a new motor just showed up at my door today and my grinder is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. Goodbye Craftsman hello variable speed 2x72. I never thought I'd get this excited about a tool/machine but I don't think I'm going to be able to sleep tonight.

Nice work guys!

Here's a quick walk through my shop and a RF2 Framelock in progress.

Here's the group I heat treated earlier this week... D2, AEBL, CPM-10V, High Carbon Damascus, S7 and CPM-D2.

Finished up this one today. Gotta sharped the gut hook and put an edge on it still. First time using g10 and making a guthook.

Stan, That is a beautiful knife. I wonder if you would share your technique for putting in the shield inlay? I used to put some simple inlays into gunstocks by beveling the casting and setting it in place (epoxy) and sanding to level. Does the inlay go clear through to the liner? What do you use to cut the shape of the inlay into the carbon fiber? I would love to put one in one of my knives but I do not know how to go about inletting such a small piece of stock. Any tips would be appreciated. Thank you, Larry Lehman

Except for a couple tweaks and final sharpening finished up my first kitchen knife. I had help from some bladeforumees on a previous thread.

8" Chef knife
AEB-L with hand rubbed 800 grit finish (maybe go with 600 grit on my next )
Black paper micarta with black phenolic pins bolster (can see the pins but still looks good to me)
Antique micarta for the scales (wow was this stuff a pain in the rear to work with - Shape it with a file it will just gum the heck out of your belts/disks)
Brass pins with one mosaic pin in the middle (Need to get a reamer as there is a small visible glue line around the mosaic pin)
Black .030 G10 liner

All cell pics sorry.

A couple in progress (not that you all don't know the process)

Pre HT messing around with the disc grinder. Had some dips I wanted to level out without removing too much stock.

Although not as nice as wood or "normal" micarta to work with the antique stuff did finish well at 2500 grit and feels good in the hand.
