Lookin good Pablo. Whats the color combo on the red and the black? I guess I'm going to have to make some myself. Does anyone know of a company that will custom make colors?

Pablo, that looks awesome.
I'm interested in how you did that. How did you prepare the faces before gluing and what kind of glue did you use.
For a heavy contoured handle I need pretty thick micarta handle slabs that I can't get a hold of here in Europe. The largest around here are the 3/8 ones so I thought of gluing two 1/4 slabs with the same color together.
Thanks for any hints.
Andreas

Got it Matt, sadly I can't help as I don't make the micarta myself, I'm just the exclusive distributor.
Regarding glueing, I sand all the surfaces with 36 grit band and then use epoxy and clamp properly until its dry.

Just finished (ok, almost finished, I still need to sharpen it) my first frame lock. Relied heavily on the wealth of knowledge on this forum. Hope at some point I can give back as well, rather than just suck knowledge.

Blade is 1/8" AEBL. Scales are bead blasted titanium. Backspacer is micarta and I've got to be honest I'm not loving it. Next time I'll probably use something else. I wanted to keep it simple with clean lines. Kind of feel like it ended up a little too "plain Jane" though. It could have used a bit more flare I think. Next time.

Looks good. How are you doing it?

This was in a make shift rotary tumbler with ceramic media. The reason we want to test whether rotary will do the trick is that we can build a good rotary tumbler that will do our longer (14") knives for relatively little money. The cheapest vibratory tumblers I've seen that would do our long knives are around $800. We've designed and acquired parts for a better rotary tumbler now. We're building it later today and then we can start playing around with it.

I don't know why you don't like it but it looks awesome to me

Thanks. I'd be interested in seeing a thread of your build when you have time. Where did you source out the media?

Once we prove the design a little more I'll try to take a few pics and post up a build thread. Media is the 3/8" ceramic polyhedrons from raytech, we got 20lbs of it from Zoro.com. I believe Zoro.ca has it as well, for a few dollars more

cheers,

Almost finished this one for a local boy scout troop to be auctioned off. O1 steel blade. Flat ground. Tapered tang. Copper dovetailed bolsters, liners, corbys, and lanyard tubing. Ironwood burl handle with Ironwood burl ferro rod holder with a copper liner. Now I just have to get the sheath done.

Kitchen tactical paring knife?? I don't know. Kind of did a destruction edge test then ground it down and kept it for myself for kitchen use. This ones number 10 I've made.

Numbers 8 and 9 here. Just made a press also so I could make some sheaths.

This ones number 7. Just gave it to my good friend as a wedding gift.

Numbers 5 and 6.

Wow..

DO you have more pictures of tools you've made??
