Nice work guys!

Here's my latest finished knife, an AEB-L Steel Kamisori Style Kitchen Utility with a Blackwood and Silver Twill Wa Handle.

:D I like to mix things up... a lot! .315" S7 Steel Prybars are on deck and ready to heat treat.

I'm also learning more about forging and casting... I just collected some local sandstone, lapped it flat by rubbing the pieces together and carved some molds into the pieces for my first try at some cast pieces. I want to eventually make Menukis from my own Shibuichi alloy. :)

That kamisori looks great Daniel! How do you like AEB-L? I was thinking of trying some when I reorder more steel. I've read good things about it.

Thanks! I'm a really big fan of AEB-L and will be using much more of it for most of my kitchen knives, some framelocks and just about all of my smaller fixed blades. It is also really versatile material and can be used for just about anything you want to cut well.

AEB-L gets a super fine edge and a small grain size can be attained. It is not likely to chip or rust. It gets just crazy sharp and is really easy to maintain.

The only real downside is that it likely is not the best material for cutting abrasive materials, I like 3V or Ti/Carbide for that depending on what I need.

I'm mainly using AEB-L, CPM-3V, 52100, W2, z-fiNit, S7, D2 and CPM-10V this year... I can make just about anything between all of these.

Forgot about this one. This was a Christmas present. 416 SS bolsters and fittings. Stabilized maple handle. 52100 blade. When rubbing wax on the blade to protect it from rust I realized it was plenty sharp after wondering where all that blood on the blade was coming from.

You have some exceptional skills! I do really love a single finger guard/bolster knife. Seem they've gone out of fashion since 'bushcraft' and tacticool stuff has bit off so fashionably.

Keep up the hard work, you've got me as a fan for sure!

This one started as a challenge, to make a knife out of garbage (I have most of the photos of the WIP if you guys want them) when I saw the wood I was going to use (construction timber) I decided to stretch a little the rules and look in MY garbage bin and found ebony scraps :D these little pieces that you keep just in case because its ebony.
The file was softened, profiled and then water quenched. The pins are 3/16" aluminium welding rods. I guessed is W1, but it could be W2.

Just finished up this line knife in 14c28n stainless. I'm very impressed with this steel. It can't take as thin of an edge as aeb-l, but side by side with 154cm I can't tell the difference.

Almost finished this one for a local boy scout troop to be auctioned off. O1 steel blade. Flat ground. Tapered tang. Copper dovetailed bolsters, liners, corbys, and lanyard tubing. Ironwood burl handle with Ironwood burl ferro rod holder with a copper liner. Now I just have to get the sheath done.

Is the ironwood stabilized or is that hard enough that it doesn't need it?

This is a very nice knife. How do you finish the S35VN?

For this one I used 240 compact grain>scotchbrite brown and green on the belt grinder and then 360grit sandpaper. Stopped there. I usually stop around this point for knives that are going to be users IMO

Thanks!
