I had some Bolivian rosewood I screwed up on a bigger knife so I made a small one to fit what I had left. It's .125" 440c and stainless corby bolts. Not too bad for some scraps!

Awesome little knife. Looks well done, a good user, and very clean!

Just refinished my first folder with an acid stonewash and sent my second off to heat treat.

I had some time yesterday to shoot a few photos. This session was done on my kitchen table under natural light... and this was the best image from the shoot. While this shot turned out OK, I'm definitely going to need to pull out the light tent to get some sharp "sales-quality" images... where everything is in focus, colors are brighter, and the hamons are visible. I think a different background is in order as well. {shrug}

Thought I would share something especially for the budget knifemaker. I wanted to do a stonewashed finish on a couple knives and have not purchased a tumbler or made one yet. So I went to harbor freight and picked up some media and noticed the container had a good size opening so I took out about half of the media or a little over and I tossed in one blade and manually tumbled for about 4-5 minutes and I thought it turned out pretty good. Here are the 2 I did.

I have only been finishing knives for the past couple months so I had the urge to hog some metal with the belt I purchased at Blade. I had a small piece of steel laying around, so I ground this up this morning. First time grinding a wharncliffe and I must say, it was pretty fun. Tip may be a little thin. We'll see.

Looks good. That is a nice finish.

My second knife. (yup, just two :D) Working on the final sanding now. Finished profiling the clip yesterday. This is easier to do when the kid is out of school for the summer. :D

Looking good guys! Nathan I really like those you are working on, one day I''m getting one of your platens for the horizontal grind lines. :cool:

Here's my natural look... blasted by the 90 PSI garnet sands of the Sahara... err something like that!

Carbide Edge Friction Folder!

This is not meant to be an insult or anything of the sort but what is funky about the grinds? They look great and I love the knives!

It's just a weird way of grinding, with the grind going along the length of the blade rather than perpendicular. I don't do nothing rite...
