I've been wanting a Bruce Bump file guide for quite awhile. I've been watching the for sale area waiting for Bruce to make another batch. I was asleep at the wheel and almost missed out, but was able to get the last one of the a resent batch. The postman showed up today with this little goodie and I got to say I'm impressed and can't wait to try it out.

Some time ago I built the Eastern Woodlands Khukri and its wooden scabbard. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...nds-Khukri?highlight=eastern+woodlands+khukri
I was never quite satisfied with the scabbard however, and it just sat in my shop begging to be re-done.

Now, finally, I got the job done and I am now happy.

After:
The sheath is made with 6/7 oz veg tanned leather, fully leather lined, with a two-piece figured Yellow Birch inlay, hand made brass D-ring, and a moose antler stud.

-Peter

I remember that one. I love the white and stacked birch handle.
I like the new sheeth better as well.
Beautiful

I just set up some lights and tried my hand at photographing my last few knives. I will try again in the morning with some natural light. Larry Lehman

An absolute nightmare of a knife to make for me, but very pleased with the results. :)
Thinking I might give an auction a try up on Instagram

That's sweet! Why was it a nightmare?

EDIT: Is that linen maroon on the bottom half?

That looks great Josh, really nice. With brass like that I worry about keeping it in good condition going forward in use. ?

Put my first public sale knife up this morning. :)

Looks good bud! I make one similar and have had good luck with them. That's a big blade. 8" and up I chase a lot of 2" marks. When I get a new grinder I will pick up one of those vertical platens. Nice job!

Very nice! Is that yellow wood Osage orange? I have been working up a lot of it lately, working it down to handle size. After I get it worked to handle size, I send it to WSSI for stabilizing. It isn't cheap because they price the final product by weight and as you know, it is already heavy wood. Nobody can beat their service, my 2 cents worth.

Just finished up my largest custom order to date. A 4 knife chef set with 52100 steel and Thunderstorm Kevlar handles. I put copper and black paper micarta liners on them.

Keeping those plunges equal in big chef like that is pretty tricky! Great Job those look stupendous!

I was starting work on this handle and decided I'd give some of the fancy contours a try:

This is going to be a right handled favored handle:

It's really tricky to get all the lines nice and even and crisp and yet make it comfortable at the same time, but I'm really happy with it sofar.

Just thought I'd share:D

Daniel, this is my first time using 3v and it was a bear to grind compared to my typical AEB-L. Yes that is indeed maroon linen micarta on the bottom. By the way, that contoured handle looks sweet! I haven't done too many of them myself and I agree about what you said about keeping things crisp.

Brock,
Im sure there is a possibility of the material forming a patina though i do not believe the integration of the material should cause any kind of stability issues as it was used only as a spacer between front and back of the handle scales and of course the handle pin hardware. That is actually why I decided to almost completely stop using copper in my knives because of rapid amount of patina the material forms.

John,
I believe this one has stabilized maple bolsters. It does at times definitely look like osage orange.

Thanks Daniel! The big chefs are difficult for sure. Always a good feeling to get one to turn out!
