Just need to finish the spine on this hunter in .170" s35vn. My first G10 textured scales. Used cf for pins and tube. Really was a fun knife to do.

Antlerhog, That's a nice looking grind on your blade and I like the CF pins and lanyard hole...very cool. Larry

I don't have much of a shop and I am by no means a knifemaker but I recently got laid off and have nothing but time on my hands, so I resurrected this project.

That is a full sized griptillian for scale.
The main grind was done by William Nease a couple years ago.
Still needs heat treat scales finishing and a sheath but I started work on the handles earlier today.

Is that Corian on the top knife? I think I have a piece of that. They called it "camo". I don't know that I would call it camo but it is interesting.

First hamon by terrance stilwell, on Flickr
a quick etch on my first Hamon, its straight off the 600 grit belt from the grinder, I haven't hand sanded it at all yet. So excited to get started sanding it out and see what I can see in it.
Steel is 1095, "clay" was Rutlands furnace cement.

Something a little different for me. Swayback Hawkbill (I guess?), integral wrought iron bolsters/liners with amber stag, blued W2 blade and spring. Haven't decided on pins yet.

Very nice Javand...
Great material choices and the amber stag is perfect.
Why not wrought iron pins ??

Well, I'm not confident I could turn down 1/16" stock out of wrought for the pins honestly.. Certainly not aware of any being available otherwise. The material I used for the liners/bolsters was forged down from 3" diameter anchor chain.

I'll probably do domed mild steel pins and blue them, or just gray them.
