What's going on in your shop? Show us whats going on, and talk a bit about your work!

Im home for the week and I also had a package back from K&G! Just surfaced more old growth redwood burl, Hard maple, crotch walnut and my old growth Cocobolo! Next up, cut up that ironwood!

Nice meeting you Ben, and thanks again for the redwood. Can't wait to see how it turns out on a Wa handled Gyuto. Now I just have to get one finish ground. :)

I had Brock and HSC over in my shop today. I sent them both home with a nice mix of redwood burl, curly maple, kingwood and walnut!

nice meeting you today :-)

Made my first slip joint. CPM 154 and black Warwood sanded to 1000 grit. I couldn't have done it without the pattern from Andrew Riley and his help, as well as all the help I received from all the other members here on Blade Forums. Thanks guys. I really appreciate it.

Sure is some nice wood and work! I have a lot of Osage and some big walnut to work up before it goes to WSSI. I cut gnarly wood for the best looking wood contrast. It takes a lot of time and work to get select scales.

The majority of my knives get stabilized Osage wood.

Osage has just never been my style. Its also impossible to get here in California.

Still have a long way to go but it is a fully functioning shop and as Im just starting out I don't have a ton to show but these are the nearest to complete I have

Had some spare time today so I worked on this guy while the finish on my other knife cured. Really like the way this is progressing. :D

LO/REZ, I really like your knife. The blade shape is very nice and nicely finished. Good work. Larry

If you don't mind sharing, what thickness is your stock, and what is your finish sanding procedure on the blade? I assume you are using stabilized wood with no finish on handle, just sanded and buffed?

Thanks guys. I wasn't too sure on the color combo at first, my cousin specifically asked for them, but its really starting to grow on me. :)
Love the figure and color of that burl and the material combination and shape look awesome. How does it feel in the hand?
This is probably my favorite piece of burl I've ever purchased. GREAT figure and takes an amazing finish. Sadly, I only bought one block and can't seem to find anymore. :( In hand for me is very good, I have medium/large hands and this has been the oldest design that I still make. Definitely a classic one for me but I still enjoy making them.
That green handled burl you're working on is looking mighty nice bro. Can't wait to see it all polished up!
Beautiful. Everything flows really nicely with the overall look.
Thanks man!
Always beautiful knives.

Thanks brotha! :D Stock thickness is just over 1/8 inch, 400grit satin finish. Handle is indeed stabilized and once sanded I hit it on the buffer. Sometimes I will apply a light wax coating if I feel it is necessary but in this case I did not.

Blessings,
Joshua
