I made a simple cane bolt door latch system for my double door, today. I still have to make the handle for the other side and put the sweepers on to seal the bottom. The door will be filled and painted so pay not attention to the offset wood screws... :grumpy:

Nice door and latch Rick.
"....filled and painted".... well, ok. Or, you could leave everything bright and index all those screws. Awesome!!

Had some spare time after these past few days and was able to kick off the final sanding and finishing process on this one. :D

Since I am now in a holding pattern on my current projects its time to work on the design of the next knife and buffing wheel rake. I'm favoring the middle design at the moment while I wait for a block to come in for the top concept. Whats everyone's thoughts preliminary sketches? I am a big fan of the general scandi/puukko design if you haven't guessed

Just a little Koa and Ironwood. ;)
First time using Koa and its pretty neat stuff. This is also the best piece of Ironwood I've ever gotten my hands on. :D

My wife and I had an early delivery of our first child, our daughter Aurora. So shop time has been limited. This is a proto I've been working on for an instructor. I make custom blades for his company. Almost finished.

That is a great piece of ironwood Josh, and you sure didn't let it go to waste. Beautiful work as usual. :)

That birch bark turned out really nice looking. Do you treat it in any way?

Thanks. I heat handle 1 hour on 80℃ before final shaping and than sand it with wet sandpapers 320,600,1000,2000.

Loving this find buried in my mother in-law's basement. Going to be getting this in the shop tonight so I can finish some handles.

any one turn wood ?
10v copper and curly maple
blade is 5/8 thick and little over an inch wide making this negative rake scraper a heavy hitter

The top so far, I would increase blade length on the second two.

Lol I'm calling the Arabian night sword the Raider after raiders of the lost arc it reminds me of the Arabian swordsman in the film. It's going to be a while until it's done.
