HDCutlery,

Nice to see someone just starting out on here. I check this thread at least once a day. Some really talented people in here. I can only watch and dream for now, haha.

Anyway, I'm looking at forges right now to add to my humble shop. Don't really have the time to make one at the moment, and don't want to spend a lot right off the bat. I'm considering the one you have as a starter forge. Just wanted to ask you what is your experience with it, if you like it or not?

Mine is from devilforge and in all honesty I'm not sure I will need anything more pricey. Just ordered a 6-pack of bricks for added insulation, otherwise that little bugger gets my steel smoking hot. The only issue you will run into is with the regulator, contact the seller he will provide you a link to one that will work on American tanks. 20 bucks later you are rockin

Awesome, thanks. Still deciding on whether I should just wait until tax returns and get an Ellis Forge. That's the one I really want. Decisions decisions.

picked up some blanks from the waterjet place. Stoked to have some projects to keep me busy until the season starts.

I tried my luck at my first kydex sheath today and am pretty happy with how it turned out. This is a camp knife I made a while back and it has already seen some hard use and now that I have a sheath it will see even more!

Looks awesome! That would have been handy to have while I turned an adapter to attach my buffing wheel to the lathe

Just finished this super thin fighter. It's 3/16" 1095 ground to a full distal taper to a needle point. It is my fist tapered tang, and the handle is composed of ebony bolsters with integral liners and buffalo scales fitted to it with a radius on the front of the buffalo. Blade is 7.25" and OAL is 12.25.

Just finished my latest attempt a knife making... There are some issues with it, namely I chipped of some of the finish on the handle.
And there's a big gap at the ricaso and the ricaso is too small.

Anyway it's a warncliff style paring knife for my girlfriend.

1080+ from AKS
Home heat treat, torch and oven at 400 2x for an hour each
Horn bolster
Brass spacer
Purple heart handle

My first attempt at bolsters and spacers and CA finish.

What do you guys think?

My Ultra-Lite model.

Black G-10 with Hunter Orange G-10 shield.
CPM 154 Blade and spring brass hardware
Blade rides on bronze washers. No liners

I made a simple cane bolt door latch system for my double door, today. I still have to make the handle for the other side and put the sweepers on to seal the bottom. The door will be filled and painted so pay not attention to the offset wood screws... :grumpy:

My wife and I had an early delivery of our first child, our daughter Aurora. So shop time has been limited. This is a proto I've been working on for an instructor. I make custom blades for his company. Almost finished.
