No, usual precautions. I wore a respirator. It is really easy to work with. Feels really grippy and lightweight too.
Oh, actually I usually super glue scales together to work them and keep the tops even. Well, when I pulled them apart, part of the other scale ripped off so it took a little bit of time to sand them flat again. So you might want to use clamps or Corby's to keep them symmetrical.

Good to know. I usually glue also. Thanks!

today I finished one of the fillet knives I make from time to time, its made of Bohler K720 (O2) 1/16" thickness hardened at 60RC. Used a new batch of the micarta I sell here in Argentina that tries to imitate ivory and IMHO its my best ivory replacement so far.

Here is it in action, hope you guys like it

These were VERY frustrating to photograph. The hollow bevels and swedges wouldn't play nice with the camera. Hopefully ones in the future will be more camera friendly. :grumpy:

I know how that feels. I have a daily struggle with trying to take good photos, find proper light, get good angles, color contrasts... uuugggggh it's the bane of my knifemaking existence. I think I need to just spring for a light box.

Absolutely gorgeous knives by the way, I see them pop up often.

I was gonna say the same thing about the light box Josh. It's time. Middle blade is very nice btw.

Thanks guys!
I've played with lightboxes quite a few times, albeit not with much effort, and have even had photographers shoot with their own setups. Granted, there are many pros that can get great shots with lightboxes and the repeatability is certainly a desirable characteristic. But, I don't know, I like natural light. Just shows colors a bit better in my experience. I'll have to give the light box another shot though because there have been many times where poor weather/unpredictable light makes shots difficult. I know in hand and outside shots are certainly not everyone's cup of tea and quite honestly their not always my favorite either, but when they come out nice...I find them hard to beat, for me at least. Photography is definitely one of the more frustrating components of knifemaking. :grumpy:

Wanted to try something with the Dremel today. Not that great but first time :). I will be trying it more so if anyone has any tips on Jigged textures and other textures please let me know!

Material is scrap paper micarta :)

Trying to work the kinks out of a larger fillet knife. I'm liking it so far.

I like the pattern, Larsje, maybe have it a bit less fine.
There's a recent thread here on jigging and jigging bits

Love this one. :) I've never really been a fan of Koa. This one might have changed that....
