What's going on in your shop? Show us whats going on, and talk a bit about your work!

I just finished those four...
Bad thing is that I have to make sheaths for them....omg how I hate sheath making...:grumpy:

Love those knives Malanika!!
Your knives actualy inspired me to try a knife in that style

I just finished my first knife.
Had some time on my hands and decided to make 20 of these in this design and another 21 in a Kephart design.
Will keep and use some, but most will go to family and friends for Christmas.

Here are 20 in A-2 I got back from Peters Heat Treat last week.
The 21 Kephart design knives are at Peters right now.

I went through this batch of 20 and picked out the worst one to practice on.
I knew it was the worst one when I sent it in for heat treat, so I left 1/8" holes for the pins where most of the rest will get 3/16" Corby bolts.
Also used an inexpensive $7.00 piece of Macassar ebony on this one with a white G-10 liner for the handle.

It's been a fun learning experience which no way could I have done it had it not been for all the helpful advice and WIP freely given on Blade Forums...thank you all!
I absolutely have a new respect for all of you that do this every day.
It's been harder than I thought it might be and it's much harder on this old body than I thought it would be.
I hurt many nights after only a few hours of working on these...it's very intense focused work.

One down and 40 to go. :)

I sharpened this one after I took the pictures and was surprised how quickly that went...and how sharp it is!

These last few months have been busy to say the least. With a new job, new apartment, and a new shop (huge upgrade from working on the deck of 1br apt :D) I haven't had too much time to work on knives lately. Luckily things have calmed down and I've been able to get some shop time. Here's a few samples of what I've been up to.

Trying out canvas Micarta on this utility/fighter. Acid soaked 3/32" 1095 and it's nasty sharp

I like the Ebony against the white G-10. Just one suggestion, I would chamfer your lanyard hole to break that inner edge. I think that looks nicer, and it reduces wear on the lanyard.

Wow it's been a awhile since I posted here. It has been a very busy summer so far. I see you're all turning out great work. Always admired your crisp clean work @JoshRG

We just introduced a new model. Well, sort of new. It is our existing paring knife but with a sheath and lanyard hole; turns out this makes a great little bird and trout knife! Meet the "mallard"

Working on new Grendel mk.IV blades :)
made 4 of them from Bohler K460 (O1) 5mm steel, 2x tempered in 175*C, austenized 20minutes in 815*C, cooled in 170*C oil.
Austenized in anti-scale coating.

Well it's been a long time since I've been on here. I've mostly been on instagram and haven't done too many knives lately at all. As a few people know I had an accident earlier this year and lost three of my fingers on my left hand. Anyway, this is what's currently going on in my shop.....

These are some knives I made about a year and a half ago and I was never really crazy about them so I stuck them in a drawer and left them. Well, I have recently been trying to tie up all loose ends so I revisited them. I decided I didn't like the forge scale I left on them, and the handles were just to bulky for my liking, so I bead blasted the scale off and totally redid the handles. This is how they look now.

Adam,
Nice looking blades. You lost three fingers? OUCH!

Another maker did that in some kind of a knife Damascus making accident about two? years ago! We had a Auction for him on Knifedogs/Facebook, I think he was in your state? I trust you have healed up well!

Thanks Lawrence,

And yes, that was Zoe Crist. I met him because of this through instagram, then we met up at blade show this past year. He and his wife are good people.

we're going camping tomorrow and I managed to have this knife & sheath ready to go with us
Made a knife again to enjoy making a knife again and get back in the game
Large enough to be usefull, small enough to have on you, with a sheath to disappear in a front pocket or behind a waistbelt
