Always 7 magnets. I set them below the wood surface then fill with vaseline. Makes nice swooshing clicking sound when the 1# magnets grip
Blade is just under 2.5”. Making myself another pocket fig pruner

The cocobolo is a little too purpley for me, not that there's anything wrong with that, so I’m darkening with water soluble dark walnut. Hitting the amboyna pieces a little darker to blend with the cocoblo

I think that I will make more like this one . . .now I like horn :)

New work bench built, really like the galvanized steel peg board. I added hanging a bunch of clamps since that picture and rearranged things a little better, I plan on running an upright off of two L pieces and a shop light above the bench and mounting a power strip on the bench top.

These 4 are ready for heat treating, I have 2 more that I'm working on that are slightly behind as well.

3 more Pocket Puukko’s came off the bench last night in the middle of Hurricane Warnings and torrential downpours. Took a brief nap during a 3 hour power outage.

2.5” Scandi Grind in Cocobolo, 3” Scandi Grind in Hawaiian Koa and 3” in Bastogne Walnut

Fresh Koa just arrived this morning from Hawaii. I figure I can get (4) 2.5”-3” Pocket Puukko’s out of this. Will hold me through the weekend. I have more Bastogne and Curly Karelian coming next week. It’s about a $350/month knife handle/scabbard making addiction. Wife wants me to have my head examined. Been doing this for 51 years, not going to stop anytime soon. For those few precious evening hours in my shop, I forget all about the world
