No more running out of propane in the middle of forging? Yes please ;) Being a blown burner, is this prototype working towards something that could be rigged to a PID control also?

To make it more comfortable to finger ? Look like steel in front of scale has very sharp edge ?

Easy way to dril hole in knife with tapered tang ? Make two of them :D One with distal taper blade and one with distal taper tang and drill hole in both at once :)

Only comments that I've had from customers were how great they felt in their hands. I don't think the edge is as sharp in person as they appear in the photos.

Or, just drill your holes before you taper...

For drilling tapered tangs you build a jig that clamps at the ricasso and supports the tang to drill for the scales.

Do you have a pic of this jig? I've just been measuring the taper and using whatever is laying around to shim under the scale and drill through. That's how this one was done (not finished - still a work in progress!!).

You support blade /jig/ on flats on ricasso and then you use shims on end of scale

Yes - I'm pretty sure we're talking about the same thing. I'm really curious to see the jig that @AVigil mentioned - you never know who has a better way to skin the cat!

Thank you Adam! Now I see what you mean about clamping on the ricasso.
