Well I was happy with the hollow grind, so lets try something fun, a tapered tang!
My first one and I realy enjoyed doing it!
I kept just a bit over 1/3 of the original thickness. I think it screams out for a handle with liners to show off.

I don't really understand what you're asking ? I clamp blade to jig , set angle on work rest and grind that hollow bevel ?Do you grind the hollow straight down the blade with jig?
CPM steels are sold over thickness most places and need to be ground to final thickness. If I order .125” CPM steel it comes .145-.15” thick Alpha I believe precision grinds all Crucible steels they sell.So far I have used / bought / steel from Germany. Nothing special 52100, 80crv2, 1095 .... they were all good, the thickness the same everywhere, without any dents or bumps .
CPM steel , I can t say that I like it ! Uneven thickness, unevenness, depressions in the middle of the steel across the entire width ????
This was 4.5 mm and I must to take down to 4.31mm to get even surface !! Are all CPM like that ? This is CPM S30V............I mean blank on picture
Weird ...... same weight both

So you doI don't really understand what you're asking ? I clamp blade to jig , set angle on work rest and grind that hollow bevel ?
That make sense .This is what I am talking about , all these rectangles are lower points.I almost destroyed guard for that knife because of difference of thickness ....CPM steels are sold over thickness most places and need to be ground to final thickness. If I order .125” CPM steel it comes .145-.15” thick Alpha I believe precision grinds all Crucible steels they sell.
I don't know how to explain that in Macedonian Fredy , let alone in EnglishSo you doi mean that the hollow doesnt follow the curve of the blade. Basically you just grind less on the tip to have same thickness on the edge?
I'd be very interested in seeing how you hollow grind with a jig!I don't know how to explain that in Macedonian Fredy , let alone in EnglishOn the contrary , i grind more on the tip ,blade is some kind of distal taper .Soon i will grind that blank and i will take pictures in at different stages and it would be clear how I do that ....

I am running it through my head and am still confused how do you achieve consistent edge thickness. I guess it's one of these thing where you have to be on the grinder and have the moment of relevationI don't know how to explain that in Macedonian Fredy , let alone in EnglishOn the contrary , i grind more on the tip ,blade is some kind of distal taper .Soon i will grind that blank and i will take pictures in at different stages and it would be clear how I do that ....

Thanks; maybe one dayThat's clean, shame not to mark it!
Take a look at this drawing and think a little what is going on . . . . where the belly begins the angle of the blade towards the belt changesI am running it through my head and am still confused how do you achieve consistent edge thickness.
