had a little moment today, ruined my nice hand rubbed finish. Probably for the best, since a belt finish is a little more resistant to looking like crap after chopping through all the things and stuff

looking forward to testing it out

Ummm, Lorien….. just a thought: a hand rubbed, almost mirror finish on something intended to chop through large pieces of wood? Just sayin….. 😊

those are neat looking do you engrave these yourself by hand or are they machined, or acid etched or something and then anodized them colors. do you use a mill ~
Mike Bond did the one on the left with a laser i believe...I did the one on the right, it's engraved by hand with chisels and then anodized.

The work on the chef knives with Bob continues! We just got them heat treated a couple weeks ago. Last week I moved away from the city where Bob is located, so I probably won't have a chance to head up there to work with him again for some time. Fortunately, I've now purchased just about everything I could possibly need to make knives on my own. :)

Reeder 2" x 72" with all the goodies
9" disc grinder
Grizzly 14" drill press
Rikon 14" bandsaw (on the way)
Reeder SGA (on the way)
Dust collection/filtration
Files, surface plates, etc, etc, etc. :D

The chef knife will probably just go in storage for a year or two until I'm good enough to finish it the way I would like. All in all, I'm pretty stoked!
