What's going on in your shop? Show us whats going on, and talk a bit about your work!

That’s looking great, how did you like working with it? Looking forward to seeing the end result.
It's great to work with! Drills and mills like butter! That finish that's on it in the picture is just a quick dip in manganese phosphate just to see the pattern and the pattern emerged right off the bat I think it's going to be a pleasure to finish this one out!
Right now I'm trying to decide if I want a highly figured handle material or just a plain material like camelbone or something

Well grinding K390 at over 66 Hrc wasn't the most joyful experience. Went back and forth with different belts. After getting to know the steel I went back to and stopped at 120 ceramic-->120 compact grain--> red Scotchbrite.
This is a full hollow off the 500 mm wheel, ground to something like 0.09 mm. Looking forward to testing.

Very Nice! What brand do you prefer for the higher carbide steels? I was taking everything to a high finish pre-HT then taking them bck to hand sanded 600 or above grit, but it would be nice to take the edges to a thinner cross section post HT.

Wet grinding would be your friend... You should try it 😁

I wet grind in the sense of a wet belt and frequent dipping, but I see what you mean. It allows more pressure and control to have a constant mist/spray going.
On the next blade I'll take it to 220 ceramic and then Scotchbrite, that leaves an ok finish.

I'm working on two knives for other people and in the downtime I've been working on my 10th slipjoint.
Thin hollow ground RWL34, 3 5/32" closed wit a 2 3/16" blade. It is designed to have flowing lines when closed. I like how it turned out, I'll EDC it for a while. There are enough improvement points, but I'm getting better.

Do you like the handle material? It is genuine WW2 rag micarta with dark patina :)

I'm building a Revolution grinder in my shop. I've started a WIP in Hammer & Tongs:

Check it out, ask questions, make suggestions, tell me I'm a fool, whatever!
