5mm M2 steel , hollow grind , tapered tang .On next one i will taper tang to zeroWhy is that? Bob Loveless did them on his hunters and they are hollow ground.
I think functionaly and aesthetically they make more sense with a heavier/thicker stock.

I used to think knife making was just some ploy to get you to buy more tools. It never stops! You have to put an end to it at some point!I like that finish and the knife of course
But ..... Is there an end to how many tools I need to make for one ****** knife??? I can do general repair on a car engine with a few wrench .... while this ????? So my next project is stonewash knife tumbler , I guess![]()

Haha thank you Natlek! I’d say one out of every 5 or so knives I think of a tool I either have to have, or need to make![]()

I use a ferric/water mix, about 3:1. I leave the knife in for 10 minutes, then take it out, neutralize the acid and let the oxides set up for an hour or so before cleaning it. Then into the harbor freight vibratory tumbler for about 30 minutes.
What you use to etch knife ? Is color we see on picture same as you see it ? I really like that finish![]()
