Yes good tip.
I agree the bevel looks better, should cut better too. Something that surprised me, is mine is noticeably lighter. It may be that my tang was narrower or it could be the more acute bevel removed more weight than I thought. Either way it's lighter with better balance.
It's time consuming, but I may have to make another one of these. I'm really liking this style.

got a batch of sheaths taking up my focus and time right now, but I'm working on this knife as well. Fitting, since it's going to a sheath maker, lol

My fav knife yet and great Dad moment. My kindergarten aged son spends a lot of time with me in the shop (of course when its safe to do so). He makes all kinds of shop creations with various wood scraps but has been super interested in tools and knives as of late. I told him if he sketched out a knife we could make it (Safe - blunt and not sharp. More of a butter knife). He sketched out his design, picked out the wood, spread the epoxy and did lots and lots of hand sanding over the last few days. My only part was using the occasional power tools while he watched. Its honestly I great little design and I have not doubt he will make lots of PB&Js with it on our next camping adventure. Great first knife and fun time for me.

I remade the first knife I finished for my first ever knife show this weekend and finished it late last night. I finished my first knife in June last year and wanted to try the same design again after a year to gauge my progress. The new one was heavily coated in renaissance wax in prep for being handled at the show today so it’s looks a little streaky in the photos. Here they are side by side. Thinking about doing this every year just for fun.IMG_9616.jpegIMG_9611.jpeg

First time making fixed blades. Small pocket carry type, busy with glueing liners to the scales. Scales are oversized by .08mm. Glue is epidermix 372 as per recommended by Kevin Harvey and Dave Skinner in this pair. Experimenting with some other glues and recommendations.
