yup, the one pictured and another one. The one I'm working on is #3 with this handle concept, and it's much improved. The biggest reason for that is the material- the first was lightning strike carbon fiber, which is terrible, and the second is G10 which isn't too bad. This one is Richlite, and so far I really am liking the stuff. My skin reacts to G10 dust, which is a major drag, so I'm going to minimize my use of it whenever I can
You can always grind/polish in a full tyvek suit.

I will use bolts / and epoxy / for attaching this scale .But I want head of bolts to be flush with shape of handle , like they are pins . By reducing Dia. of head of bolts I will get thickness on top which will allow me to grind head of bolts flush with scale shape , I hope :) To do that I will reduce the diameter of the head to 6mm / now it is 9mm / thread is M4 and I will open holes in scale something like this .....I hope it would work. Scale now are little oversize so I can grind them to get bolts flush with shape :) If I do everything right 🤣
What I want to do is to avoid this

Just finished this sheath with a bazillion stitches on it, I'm really glad it's over!

Bet that helps the back a ton.

I've watched some of the videos showing the old timer knife makers, and a good few of them have setups where they can sit down in some way when they grind.
Threre are days that I might be 5 hours straight in front of the grinder and indeed it does help a lot. Also, I can lock my elbows to my knees and be much more precise.

I feel that.

Literally. I spent all day saturday, and sunday in front of the grinder. Then a couple hours today, but my back was just killing me by the time i stopped today.

Sean Yaw Sean Yaw that looks phenomenal can I ask what you’re using for your nail nicks? That is the last thing I really need to figure out.
A 3" diameter 60-degree single angle cutter. Item number 10-006-559 on Travers. The TiALN coated ones (such as item 10-006-559) make a really big difference. I would strongly recommend the coating, even though it costs more.

My Contender Machine Contender Machine work rest continues to work incredibly well after a year or two of use!

Nice!! Mine are still way too pretty because of this danged AFib. Sure can change plans.
Regardless, this workrest allows me to modify as needed to accommodate the different geometry of an original KMG with the Kanter tool arm receiver. One of mine has an extra articulation because of that and also has a 15" rod at the arm attachment to drop it way down to further accomodate a weird jig mod I needed for an ulu. Wonderful toolarms. The big platens are a little hard for me to lift nowadays, but they are a cool advent modern change (to me), too.

Josh REK Knives REK Knives , are those some kind of fuzzy wiper or are those stop collars of some sort for "presets" on the rod lengths? If collars, source, please? Thx for showing this!

Hey fitzo fitzo I’m glad to hear you’re doing some mods to the work rests that’s part of what makes them so useful!

That’s just a fuzzy wiper but I’m kinda liking the idea of a stop collar… 🤔

It's both... I threw on a external retaining spring to just hold it down but it functions as a stop now too. But it can be annoying to adjust lower when needed because you have to use the special pliers lol
