Good idea with the bike seat, makes it height adjustable.I am making myself a stool. Because this is what old guys do, apparently.

Great idea for the height adjustment, mine is on a bolt so it screws up and down to adjust the height. Also, I made a step so that your feet have something to rest on to keep legs relaxed and comfortable.I am making myself a stool. Because this is what old guys do, apparently.

I'm making it up as I go, but the thought is to use a quick release, and I think I even have an old Hite Rite kicking around which would probably work great. I'm thinking about mounting something to the bb shell for a foot rest- got some bmx pegs kick around, or maybe a set of pedals, hmmm.... so many ideas!Great idea for the height adjustment, mine is on a bolt so it screws up and down to adjust the height. My first shop was for bikes only. I thought, why would you cut such a nice wishbone rear for a stool? I have still 4 bikes hanging in my knifemaking shop and am still hesitant to sell...I'm making it up as I go, but the thought is to use a quick release, and I think I even have an old Hite Rite kicking around which would probably work great. Loriendesign- where bicycle mechanics and knife making birth unholy demons
ps. I've never cut a titanium frame into two pieces, that sacrilege will damn me for eternity. I'm fine with it
I do have one, but the saddle has the old school plate arrangement, (steel plate instead of tubular rails. There will be some fuckery involved in mounting the saddle to this post, but I think it's possible. If you look close, the rear triangle has a small spring between the seat stays and seat post. I'll be attaching the rear triangle to the plywood and leave the bottom bracket free. The system works on a bike because the chainstays flex, so I'll find out whether that system works with what I have in mindyou could even get a seat post with built in suspension.only about 20 quid over here.
I know, right? There might be something wrong with me. But if everything goes to plan, I'll have a kickass stool at the end of this which I could use every day. Although I don't have anything into this frame, it still is a custom, handmade 7Cycles unit...so, I'm probably going to hellMy first shop was for bikes only. If you could rig up the pedals to reciprocate a platform for hand sanding you'd really have somethingwell, it's working out pretty well! Next step is to secure this thing to a base. I think I'll mount a crank and pedals, and set it up so that when I need to put my feet up the crank rotates into position and when not in use the pedals flip back out of the way
