It’s just a name I gave that design.I don't know that style/shape of "Pikeman" knife. What is it and who is the creator or source of that style?
The Pikeman's knife I am familiar with has a longer blade and straight handle, more like a dirk. Roughly the 16th century equivalent of a "Rifleman's Knife". It was a defensive sidearm worm by Pikmen to use when their pike was broken, or close combat broke out after their lines were overrun. Other types looked like a butcher knife.
