I will be interested to see fitting of the bolster/finger guard.

Guard is finished and it fit perfect . I will mold carbon fiber direct on handle , but before that I need to taper tang and to do some stupid things on spine and on pins ...chance that I will do that right are 10% maybe less

Why taper the tang so late? I have been thinking must do before the blade grind.

I use jig for grinding bevels so I need tang with flat surface for that .......

Profiled all the knife shapes I've done so far out of aluminum to use as templates to make scribing easier. Still a few more I want to do.

Gunstock in CPM-154 and African Blackwood. Pattern was inspired from a picture of an Ohta and some others I've seen. drawn in Inkscape then transfered to steel. Did a hardpattern that was overclocked then scribed that onto the steel for this knife.

Working on this 2.75" S90V scapel! Paper White and black strip micarta, natural canvas micarta liners and guard and ivory paper micarta frame:

3" Magnacut lightweight EDC/small hunter with Toxic green G10 liners/spacer, black linen micarta frame and burlap handles. There is black burlap on the bottom, orange, red, orange and then OD Green burlap on the top, so it changes colors as you grind into it. This one is a much thinner handle than my normal handle since the scales with liners were around 1/4" thick instead of my usual 3/8" starting thickness!

Still gotta do the final clean up on the blades, soften the spines, clean up the ricasso, epoxy the blades into the handles, etc.

hours and hours and hours of tedious hand sanding. Spent about 6 hours today bringing this one side to 1000 grit from 130
I think I've had it for today. Tomorrow I'll finish this side at 2500 grit and ideally I'll attach the handle scales the day after.
this project is kicking my ass!

I hate to be the first one to say it, its a gorgeous knife, but seeing I am the new guy here goes,

you missed a bit, i can just see a few small dent's about 1/2 inch down from the spine.

Just roughed in handle on my first “ Bird of Prey” I call this the Barn Owl.
80CrV2 w/Dymalux Ember Glow handle.
Need to finish up handle and clean up blade. EDM sticks arrive tomorrow so I’m going to try them out on this.

Just recently finished up my second knife; it was a Christmas gift for my sister. 1084, Cocobolo, and stainless pins. 7 1/8” OAL, blade is 3 3/8”. Not perfect by any means, but learned a bunch on this one. Lot of firsts on this build for me, too, including hand sanding, buffing the handle, and attempting to take decent photos. Let me know what you think!
