I like the big one navman navman , axe swell on the handle is well done!

I am finally back into knife shop have been battling cold shop issues. I turned on the oven a couple days ago and it registered 20°F.

I was having white smoke on diesel heater start up issues and after troubling shooting and tearing the heater apart I replaced the glow plug and all is good except the 2 main gaskets were destroyed. I ordered new ones off eBay with the glow plug but the gaskets were to small so went to Ace and bought a tube of high heat automotive gasket maker.

I dread the day mine goes out. Considering a standby spare

The only component that went out in my heater in 2 winters of use was the glow plug which is an easy fix. I would definitely have a glow plug spare and get a kit that also includes the screen and gaskets but make sure the kit has the 5kw gaskets and not 2kw gaskets as they are a different size.

Some people have really bad soot build up that needs to be cleaned out. I think this issues is by running on high as with many of the controllers they are pumping more fuel than the heater can cleanly burn so the companies can say the heater is 8kw which they really aren't.

Buying a cheap spare is a good option and if you like the current controller everything is modular with these heaters. All the hardware and burn chambers are the same and the big difference is the software in the controllers.

Is that a problem or something?

This started life as a Bowie, then I realized it looked similar to throwing knives I have seen. I’ll play with it a bit and then return it to its original purpose (unless the bug bites hard).

I'd keep it as-is. It is similar to a McEvoy Tru-Bal thrower. Grind the edge and clip at 45° 120 grit is perfect for a thrower. After you have tried it out, send it to me to test thoroughly ;):).

This is the same blade I was getting ready to cerakote the other day. I think it came out great- I also found some handle material online and it looks great also! This is before epoxying the handles on (it’s drying now) IMG_4304.jpegIMG_4303.jpeg
