Hey Glen, what's your process on the vertical belt finish? Your work gets cleaner on each knife!!Here’s an edc I’m finishing up. The blade is 8670. The handle is burl wood with a micarta guard.
Thank you! I use worn 120 and 150 grit belts on my 1x30 grinder on the slowest setting, then I follow up with a surface conditioning belt. It takes a little time, but the end result is worth the effort.Hey Glen, what's your process on the vertical belt finish? Your work gets cleaner on each knife!!
Bummer! Did you buy that jigged bone?Any ideas on how to not do this again? I think I over peened the pins.

I used epoxy to put it back on and finished it out. This is the first time I have worked with bone.

Bone is sometimes very brittle. Peen the rivets just barely. One smack too hard or too many times and the bone cracks. Ivory and mammoth can be worse, and MOP is insanely brittle.
