What's on your keys?

+1, me too :D  I'm getting a couple of Merkava's later as well for other items.

Yeah, I think he always has some for sale so I'm gonna lean towards the others first. I assume the grade of their tritium is the same so if the vial is clear then it should be just as bright but I like the more durable of the two personally. I think I'm gonna make a necklace out of one of them. Maybe a white one. And get a green one for my keychain.

Be sure to check the Yield chart just so you can see how dim it is. I'm telling you though go with Ice Blue/White at the dimmist, green isn't like a midnight sun or anything but its bright and is the best for locating things in the dark (that its attached to). I like coloured over just plain white as its easier for me to "bead" in on at night. White isn't bad at all its just like you've got a white glowing spot on your bag (its really weird looking but super cool). Green and IceBlue are my favorites and I get a ton of questions from people that see the green glow at night on my keychain.

My big problem with colored (anything other than green) tritium is that it usually only lasts half as long as the Green stuff. Green lasts around 12 years. I think yellow lasts around 6 and the rest around 5. So it's kinda pointless to get a less bright color that's gonna last half as long. But for some reason that white is cool as hell to me. I'd get green for any serious marking jobs. But like I said above. I might make a pendant out of a white one. If you could see that through a thin shirt in the a dark place you'd get some interesting looks LOL.

You know you could get iknitsteel to make a few small tubes for you or get a Merkava DIY V2 (http://www.cpfmarketplace.com/mp/showthread.php?t=182082) and then have Jerry and the custom shop fab up a special handle for you...You'd be the only one who actually had a radioactive busse!

Some of those guys sell tritium buttons. Little stainless steel cups with a small vial in it. Probably just epoxy those right in the tube fasteners. LOL.

All of you are so screwed...Tritium is more addictive the knives.

Infi-Del is going to be hurting bad as he's going to need to get a fob for each of his Busses so he can find them at night.

I've always been a tritium junky. I have night sights on every single gun I own. And a few watches that contain it. But I never really though about it for a keychain addition. I want one of those tritium map reading lights so bad I can't stand it. But I can't justify the expense right now.

And don't think I haven't already thought about putting one on every single pull tab on my EDC Backpack. That would looks sick with about 14 of the things hanging off of it in the dark LMAO.

I'm just slowly converting people little by little to the Tritium way. Just do me a favor and don't go using it in making a thermonuclear bomb. :p

I'm just afraid that, though it is safe in small doses, what happens when I have 10,000 tritium vials surrounding me attached to everything I own. My hair and teeth might just start falling out and I'll grow a third nipple... on my forehead.

Sorry for the lack of pix... If I have time tomorrow or the next day, I'll edit this post and slip one in, but in the meantime:

These 4 things are always with my keys...

Atwood whistle
Atwood "Area 51" Keyton
Shivworks Lil' Loco knife
& a Micro Proton (or is that proton micro?) light.

:)

Simple...You get the third nipple pierced and put a Tritium nipplering on it. Then get a wig and have it braided with tritium fobs in it....

As for your teeth well you can replace them with 5mm white tritium vials encased in clear false teeth. You'll be a trend-setter for the geriatric rap community!

B@RT's buttons are in a sealed button, its not pressurized but the vial is glued in and then a second clear cover is glued on sealing the button...Its only like a 1.75mm vial so its not that much of a glow, having a 23mm vial would be much more glowey. I'm not sure about the fading when it comes to Max pressure vials...I'll let you know in 6-10 years on if they've faded or not!

I actually think I had a watch with Tritium on it. The Hour and Minute hands both had a faint white glow in the dark.

Merry Christmas!

The Atwood pry bars look nice but, they seem to be hard to pick up on a spur of the moment purchase. How do these County Comm bars rate? What are the best sizes to buy? Is the 2" model usable or is it too small or redundant with a SAK? How about the 3" inch model for pulling heavy staples? Is the 4 1/8" too big for a key chain? Are the 4 1/8" and 4" x 0.5" redundant with each other? Are they all made from D-9 steel? Do they rust in a pocket?

THANKS!

I don't own any so I don't have firsthand expierance but 2 inches sounds way to small to get any leverage with one so i'd go with the 3 inch.

Just a microlight. Keep my other pocket gear separate so as not to overload the keychain.

What are the different uses for these little pry bars? They really don't look long enough to do any serious prying. I use the three items on my key chain every single day but I could never see using a little pry bay. Educate me, what all tasks do you guys use them for?

I bet if you watch for it you'll find you do pry at things, all the time. You use your fingernails or a knife or a screwdriver or whatever's handy. An Atwood Pry Baby is much more powerful than your fingernails.

Industrial staples come to mind. Heck, heavy paper staples still make me use my needle nose pliers. Small nails are another item that would benefit from something less then a full size claw hammer when affixed to paneling, soft wood, etc.

Let's see..... I keep the following on my keys:
McGizmo Sapphire
Atwood Keyton
Atwood Whistle
a green tritium glow tube thingy
remote for my truck

That's it.

Good points, thanks guys.

Yeah another thing I used my makeshift prybar thing for is scraping things off. I use alot of scotch tape and when I leave it on my tables its a pain to peel off so I either use my prybar thing or a razor blade.
