What's that you're eating?

For lunch Sunday, had a bowl of Menudo with hand made corn tortillas, tortilla chips, salsa and a big, chilled mug of Corona Extra. :)

A pretty good version made by a small local Mexican restaurant near where I live. The broth is very tasty. The "meat" used is just tripe (no stomach, intestines or other offal) but they also offer patas (pig trotters) if you like, which I do.

Once had a very "ripe" version of menudo served at a restaurant in a small town located south of Puerto Vallarta. The intestines needed to be better cleaned but I still ate it all.

It's a small world. The owner of the restaurant use to work at a resturant in my hometown and he offered me some homemade "racilla" to drink (Mexican moonshine) which helped me finish all of the menudo.

Everything tastes better w/moonshine.

LOL! ;)

Lunch at home today . . . A leftover 1.5# BBQ Beef Rib, some broccoli/mac & cheese, a large tangerine and a glass of sauv blanc:

Note: Sorry for the poorly lighted pic. :(

The rib bone weighed 1/2# and I only ate 1/2# of the meat; 1/2# left over for another meal w/the left over broccoli/mac & cheese.

Had brunch yesterday w/my GF at The Restaurant at Auberge du Soleil in Napa Valley, which is one of our favorite eating spots in NorCal.

First time since before the C19 pandemic started. She gave me a $200 gift certificate towards the meal for Xmas but the tab was 2x that. So, I told her that my contribution was my V-day gift to her. ;)

Ate outside on the balcony w/a great view of Napa Valley to the south. Sorry didn't take a pic of that but here's a stock photo from the Net of the table and view where we sat:

Had a 3 course brunch including: Foie Gras, seared Wahoo and an Apple Tart plus a dozen oysters and a bottle of Domaine Caneros sparking wine. Actually had the oysters last which came w/freshly grated horseradish and tabascco sauce upon request.

Here are a few pics of the meal, which was delicious, as usual at this Michelin Star rated restaurant. The pics don't do the meal justice, due to my lack of photograhic skill, but here they are just the same:

On a roll. It was a nice enough day to finally take the cover off my little red sports car and drive it w/the top down via the back roads to a favorite sports bar/restaurant spot of mine for a club sandwich and a glass of Maui Waui.

The photo included a bank of TVs above the taps but I inadvertantly captured a clip of Stafford & the Rams playing on one screen while taking the shot and I just HAD to edit that out! LOL! ;)

BTW, this is a "stock" photo of my little red sports car. It's a 2002 Toyota MR2 Spyder. It has only 55k miles on it and I've owned it for over 16 yrs. Driving it less since I got my 2014 Z51 7 speed stick convertible Corvette but it's still a lot of fun to drive. :)
