What's that you're eating?

A big bowl of Taiwanese-style Beef Noodle Soup that I had for lunch today. It was delicious! 🍻

Also had a glass of a draft IPA (out of the picture) with it.

Take out on the rare occasion I'm not cooking.

A big burrito from the Mexican place down the street. Tongue for the meat.

With a small cup of what's known as, 'green sauce'. Which is a Houston, Texas invention of creamed jalapenos. Made in a blender.

I've made it before. It'll take 24+ jalapenos to make a couple jars. Lot's of jalapeno. Enough jalapeno to make it expensive.

Do you add anything else to it, or just puree jalapeños? I'm intrigued......

There's oil involved. With the goal of mixing the oil with jalapeno. To where it's basically a creme. It just takes a minimum 12 peppers to have enough to work with. Cooked peppers as in boiled or steamed.

You'll need a blender or some Ninja® product.

Went out for an early dinner at one of our favorite spots.

The standout item for me was the crispy Brussels sprouts with pancetta, goat cheese, and balsamic glaze. First time we’d tried it there. Pure candy. The wife loves their crab cakes. We finished up with a flourless chocolate/hazelnut torte, and an almond cake with brown sugar mascarpone and cherry/brandy compote.

^^ Your cocktail has a floatie in it.
Always something with their drinks! We usually sit in their bar because it’s a spectacle, with hundreds of back-lit bottles, a fireplace, and big windows that look out on the bay. When we go during the week we can sometimes watch them prepare all their little dried fruits and sprigs and stems and make their aromatic bitters/syrup, which smells AMAZING. The wife always makes reservations but usually chooses the bar once we get there. The place is actually her favorite hotel/spa.
