What's that you're eating?

Lunch @ my local Korean restaurant w/my GF today. Kimchi Jigae (a kimchi, pork, tofu & veggie stew) and Pan Fried Mackeral w/assorted Ban Chan.

Not pictured is a bottle of Terra, South Korean lager made by Hite. We had 2 bottles w/lunch.

The bottle said it was an "Australian Malt Beer Selected by Terra" which was weird but it is made/sold in South Korea. It's a very smooth, unassuming beer that's good w/food. Some might say it's bland and lacking in character (which it certainly is when compared w/IPAs) but it was fine w/lunch.

Just wanted to try it because I never heard of it before. Apparently, distribution in the US just began last year and distribution has been limited to Korean communities/markets and restaurants so far. See: HiteJinro To Sell Terra in US

Warning: Triple X Rated Beef Porn!!! LOL! ;)

I've only eaten at Peter Luger's once in my life and I still remember the experience most fondly. I sat at the table behind the people at the end of the clip.

The only thing I still don't understand -- and that has never been explained in this or other videos I've seen about PL's -- is why why they precut the meat.

I originally thought it was to make sure about the level of "doneness" but it also seems to have something to do w/the "cook" time since they put the steak back in the oven after cutting it and just before service. A minor annoyance but I've never had a better "restaurant" steak prepared anywhere else.

Definitely a "bucket list" place if you're meat lover and if you haven't event there yet. :)
