What's that you're eating?

Big ole pot of homemade New England clam chowda tonight! 🤤

I do it with extra meat. More pork’n clams than you’d usually get. Nom nom.

*pork = bacon, but the double entendre doesn’t work as well with ā€œbaconā€ as it does with ā€œporkā€. ;) 🤣

It's that time of year again...

Next, found a new (to me) dumpling place in Fremont, CA . . .

An appetizer placed on every table . . . not sure what's in it. A little spicy but delish:

A bowl of pork & shrimp won ton with cloud ear fungus in a spicy marinade:

A steamer basket of Xiao Lung Bao . . . ate 1 before I thought to take a pic:

Lastly, nothing I bought or eaten here but here are some interesting things that I saw in the new Costco that just opened in my home town that I don't recall seeing anywhere else . . .

1# cooked octopus tentacles:

Wagu Beef Ribeye for $60/#:

A great deal on Duck at just $3.19#:

"Estate grade" Caviar for $30.76/oz or $54 a serving:

A bottle of Blanton's Gold (left) for $117 & a bottle of Weller Millennium (third from right) for $5500.

I've seen the Gold & Millennium priced on the Net at $325 & $7500, respectively, retail.

The Blanton's sold immediately after I took this photo. Didn't buy it because I still have a bottle of Blanton's that I've never opened. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

The Millennium is probably still there. If you want it, Zelle me $6k (which should cover cost plus the tax & shipping) & I'll buy it for you. LOL!

Costco rocks pretty hard! 🤘 Most of the stuff they carry is good quality, even their in-house ā€œKirklandā€ branded stuff. Many times that stuff is made by a top-quality, well-known major brand, but at a fraction of the regular cost.

Pro tip about Costco shopping in general: If you see something you might want to try, BUY IT NOW!!! You can always return it if you change your mind, but their deals are notorious for not being there the next time you go. The mantra is ā€œNow or never.ā€

Quinoa, chicken thigh stir fry & Sourdough I garlic’ed up and broiled. A fully organic meal that didnt hurt the bank too much. The $8 a loaf sourdough stung at first but now I really value it.

Also, bought this the other day for home made fries. As much as I love an excuse to use my knives time is of the essence lately and this thing saves LOTS. Paid $17 at Walmart, highly recommend šŸ‘

Another tip about Costco; if the price tag on the shelf display has an asterisk on it, that product is limited stock. Once they run out, they won't be getting more.
