What's that you're eating?

Gumbo.

Needed some more chittering sea roaches.

A Japanese place just opened near my house but, I forgot to take more pictures. Here's a mostly eaten sabazushi (pickled mackerel sushi)

I also had ebi katsu curry (fried shrimp with curry sauce, rice, pickled daikon and mustard greens). I'm told ebi katsu curry is the most popular meal across Japan, but it and sabazushi are rarely seen in the US. This was some of the best Japanese food I've had in a while, so I'll definitely be back.

Raw salmon from a supermarket came from a farm, shouldn’t have parasites

The spring wild Coho and Kings, I’ve never had a problem with. The late summer Browns and Lakers I’ve sometimes have seen parasites.

Regardless of season, Rainbows & Steelhead here have always have been clean.

These are all Great Lakes caught wild/natural Salmon//Trout I’m talking about.

The only store bought I’ve ever had is Sockeye, which unfortunately isn’t here to catch, but is really delicious, and worth the premium price it costs 👍

Dang, now I have a taste for spring Coho, 👍❤️

I'm in Texas for a funeral, had to try some tex-mex. I had cochinita pibil en panuchos, roast pork on top of crispy tortillas stuffed with beans.

Excellent food, but the place was empty on a Tuesday night, perhaps because this item was lost in translation.
