Agreed. Someone once tried to convince me that the dirt on store-bought mushrooms is clean, organic compost and I shouldn't wash them. But I've stepped in enough cow patties to know better.Wash with the spray faucet and brush or your hands, then dry. There's no reason to eat dirt.
The dog and I have the same expression on our faces when I see this pic
What do you slather onto your steaks? My instinct is to call it blasphemy, but it does look savory...
They're not as slathered as they look. I cut up a whole tenderloin early this afternoon and had two plates of them just sprinkled on both sides with salt and pepper. When I cook them I mix a small bowl of bbq sauce, olive oil, and Frank's. I put just the thinnest layer on with the back of a fork when I start them and then the rest when I turn them. By the time they're rested and served, there's not much on them. My son wipes off what little there is before cutting into it.What do you slather onto your steaks? The cinnabars are one of my favorites.Mushrooms everywhere in the woods today. Unfortunately I didn’t have enough time to do a good job harvesting them, but I did spot a good batch of black trumpets that I grabbed for dinner tonight.

They did get a light rinse to get the dirt off them. I agree withSynov , no need to eat dirt and sand.

Decided to make some twice baked potatoes, with the black trumpets as part of the filling.

Had some black trumpets left over, so they went in the freezer dryer.

I might have to try that out. I'm intrigued. They're not as slathered as they look. Those beef ribs look fabulous. I like beets on the smoker 🫜Wife wanted beef ribs for her birthday. I'm going to be humble and say I make some of the best ribs around.
Threw in some pork ribs and some beets since the fire is going to burn no matter what...

Those egg rolls and dumplings ain’t quick prep! What’s your fave go to freezer goodies. We’ve become partial to Trader Joe’sOne of those "what can I pull together in 20 minutes" kinda nights. Lucky for me, Colman's mustard is easy to assemble and the kimchi was particularly lively.

I cut them at least 2" thick. I start a foil pack of potatoes and onions about 30 minutes earlier on max heat, so the grill claims it's about 650 when the steaks go on. I cook them by time, turning once, on the rare side of medium rare.I might have to try that out. I'm intrigued.
Beets usually just become a darker shade of purple. If you've never tried it, they are fantastic. Especially in a salad.I'm way behind on bbq
I've never seen that.
How do the beets look when they are done ?
