What's that you're eating?

Visited a friend in Sacramento yesterday & stopped with her at my favorite Chinese restaurant for steamed fish before heading home.

Usually, I just order a black bass for the dish but this time the waitress recommended another fish in the tank that I've never had before. It's called a China Rockfish & you can find more info about it: HERE.

It's a variety of the Scorpion family of fish that has stingers & looks like a Monk Fish (but much smaller) when served. It was delicious & will be my go-to fish (as long as they have one) when I stop at this restaurant again.

Ordered a side dish of Bok Choy with Shitaki Mushrooms & drank a bottle of cheap Sauvignon Blanc (not in the pics) with the meal (no "corkage") that I happened to have in the car.

An expensive lunch but well worth it IMO. 😋
