I've not had much time to cook recently; an un-anticipated move and work have been relentless. However the kitchen is now 96% set up in our new place, so naturally I had to christen the stove-top with some sloppy joe's. As usual, I had to add some Cheddar and serranos.

Went to 99 Ranch in Pleasanton CA to buy a couple of dungeness crabs today. Probably came from way up north since they are out of season down here.

Here they are -- two 2#ers -- ready to be steamed. Still sluggish due to being packed on ice. Otherwise, they wouldn't sit so nicely in the bowl. LOL! ;)

And here's the day-before-Father's Day dinner that I prepared for myself.

1/2 a crab and corn on the cob steamed w/the crabs and slathered w/butter on the plate, the rest of the crabs in the big bowl, French baguette slices in the smaller bowl, a ginger/salt/oil dipping sauce a9that I use w/steamed crab and steamed chicken) on the side and a glass of sauv blanc to top it off. Yum!
