My hometown had a Smitty’s. Apparently it’s just a local pancake house. All I remember is the joint burned down twice and by the time I left town in my mid-twenties, it was called Smitty’s III.

Guy Fieri from Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives show had previously been there and recommended it. When we are on vacation we tend to look for the restaurants he went to and check em out. It's always a pretty kewl experience.

Yeah greasy-spoons are great. I hit Beth’s in Seattle once, about fifteen years ago. It was featured in an episode. I think they were famous for an enormous omelette, served on a bed of hash browns on a pizza platter. At least that’s what we all got. I was meeting up with an old school buddy and his family for the day. Fun times.
