What's the average age around here?

18:D Just started collecting knives when i registered here...Oct-02.
First "nice" knife was a microtech ultratech and that was enough to get me addicted. I had a handblown glass pipe for auction and a forumite asked if i'd trade for the ut6. He showed me the forums and i saw what i was missing out on. From october to now i've handled more quality blades than i ever thought possible, thanks to the forums. I own roughly 20-25 knives and have spent well over $2,500. I always had a fasination with quality knives but they were never available where i live. Since i was about 11 i have always baught POS knives. I would get exited when i baught a Gerber or Shrade from wally world or k-mart. Once in a while i find a beat up knife that my mother had taken from me when i was little.... Man, what pieces of shi* i used to buy...

Hey all, I'm 22, turning 23 in May.........still in full time school. Feels like it will never end. :) By next fall with my Bcomm degree in hand, i'll be ready to make some real loot, and start buying customs. pandora's box? well maybe...

I bust my ass working two part time jobs to support myself and my vices, including knives.

It just makes having the things in life like my girl and my small collection of quality production knives that much sweeeter.

take care all,

Jared

:D

Whadda ya mean PAIN!?!?!?! I'm a 34yo veteran, I'm still reasonably happy with Wife #2, in house #2, driving completely paid-off car #6 wich has 158,000mi on it. I have a BS and a masters, I am still in graduate school, have another eight to ten years of school to look foward to before I'll be completely done. My wife graduates with her first masters in May. I have three expensive hobbies, knives the least expensive of witch so far, guns, and Telescopes cost more! You're 23 and you already feel it will never end? Suck it up and drive on, I got a lot of living left to do, and you got even more!

I've been carrying a knife for over half a century (not the same one knife!) and I just turned 59. I am surprised how young some of you are, because you sure don't sound childish. This is a good group, whatever your ages.

33. But I still get carded when I buy beer.

Take that as a compliment ;) :)

Under 30 I frequently had to show my papers while buying booze, but not any more :(

I'm 38 now.

I'm 31 here. I usually feel at least that old, sometimes a lot older. Back surgery does that to ya. :(
I know that feeling well. I'm 28 and it's been eight years since my back surgery. Been carrying for the last ten years.

Gonna be 41 June 1.

I've carried a pocketknife as long as I can remember, at least 31 years. These days they're a little nicer...:)

Live long and prosper.

I'm not going to start an argument over who's life is harder or who has more hardships. It's obvious it is you. Since you like giving advice, i'll give you some: Keep your head up, i know you'll make it one day.

Oh yeah, thanks for the tip, i'll keep it in mind. I enjoy my life and i don't take my way of life for granted. It gets tough for all of us sometimes, i realize that. I bet if you thought back to yourself at my age in college you'd be saying the same thing (like everyother university student after 4 tough years). Don't lecture me, i get enough of that in class. :D

Peace in the east,

I'm 31, but feel like I'm still in college or so. I guess I do things that keep me feeling young.

Tom Petty said something I like a lot: "I don't know, but I've been told, you never slow down, you never grow old..."

I had to count to be sure - still 31 and getting older every day - my pact with God must have gone awry.

Today is my first day of being 58. Been carrying a knife since I was 7, first automatic at the age of 8... cut me some slack, they were legal then.

Turning 39 soon - what happened to all those years? Been collecting and using knives for a lot of that time.
