What's the best deal you've ever gotten in a knife?

I found so many great deals at pawn shops it's crazy. The best maybe was a 1950's Rudy Ruana made skinner.Paid $18.00.Yes,i even had the nerve to talk them down on it.

I have picked up several nice knives over the years, but there are a few that I got for a killer deal.

At the Pawn Shop I picked up a 2005 Kershaw Leek with the old serrations for $10.

Again at the Pawn Shop I picked up a Victorinox Old Cross Silver Alox Electrician for $10.

Recently I picked up a Kershaw 1520 Ricochet(quite rare and long discontinued) in good shape for $48.14, I am so pleased with this gem of a knife, and the price was a steal for what this knife goes for now. I wish Kershaw still made them, because now I want the Ricochet's brother, the original Random Task.

Also got a ZDP Dragonfly for $57 for Christmas. Which isn't as huge as the other deals, but still a good price for such a great little blade.

So what little Gems have you found?

Pawn shop:
2004 Kershaw Leek, red/black anno (scales were a bit beat up) for $13
1973ish Buck 110 $28 out the door

several Sog and Kershaw's on clearance for ~$13

BK2 as a birthday gift = Free!

Do trades count?

I have made some sweet deals here on the trading forum.
A couple of my favorites are a trade up to a BM 940 with about $75 total investment.
My spyderco southard only cost me about $150 through a trade
A few trades up to a BM 635 mini skirmish cost me total of $145
and a quick little trade got me a Spyderco Sage 1 for about $44 invested

I wouldn't have half of the collection I have now if it weren't for the awesome members here and the bladeforums trade section. It allows me access to knives out of my price range by starting small and working my way up. It takes time, but its a hobby like anything else.

Jesse seeing as how we live a mile apart I gotta know what pawn shops your finding knives at?! The ones I regular don't buy/sell knives at all.

As for my very best deal- I picked up my Benchmade 710 in D2 BNIB for $75, that's by far the best but I also recently snagged a Sage 3 for 80 (after it was announced they were disco'd) which I thought was a very good price for its condition, I had only seen one other lower than that before and it was much more used than mine was. Also got my Sage 1 for $75 but that was from a friend and I've seen others sell for the same.

Oh one other, I got a BNIB OD/coated 556 for $45 as an Xmas gift to my friend, I've seen a few other mini-grips at that price tho.

ZT 0550-$20, yard sale, the nice lady was rather pissed about her husband's collection ^^;

I got a benchmade 581 for 135$ shipped from a major online dealer. Probably the best deal I've gotten

That not really my personality, I did tell her it was worth more than what she was asking, that got me that 5 min. lecture on not buying too many myself, but not a price increase so I supposed it was a fair buy then LoL.

Wow... nice.

Actually the only thing I ever got at a yard sale worth mentioning was a brand new pair of Danner Acadia boots for $10. They were still in the box not even laced. Not a knife, but an amazing find since they retail for almost $275!

Hey, a good deal is a good deal! Effort in the hunt and product knowledge is key no matter matter what you are looking at/shopping for.

Discuss the knives in General Knife Discussion.
Discuss the deals in FEEDBACK.

Merged Best great knives you got for a steal at post # 63.

Not the best deal for me but I have given away 4 Kaber Fin Fixed blades in D-2, 1 Kabar USMC, 1 Leatherman Steen's Fixed blade in s30v, a CRKT Ignitor, CRKT Ultima, CRKT Folt's Minimalist, CRKT Kaiyuh, and probably others that I have forgotten about. I give these out to people I meet and like. Funny thing is Santa brought me a Busse TGLB this year, imagine what my kids are going to get when they are old enough.

I got to say that knife Karma is great.
