What's the BEST KNIFE DEAL You Ever Got?

I was at Home Depot a couple of weeks ago, and noticed a Midnight Manager labeled for $12.50...which is about half retail.

I snatched it up, and during self-checkout, it rang up $14.50. I pointed the $2 overcharge to the cashier. He removed the charge and re-scanned the knife. I thought I saw $12.50 ring up, paid the bill, and left.

When I got home, my wife noticed we were changed $2 for the knife.
Whoa. I admit I felt a bit guilty, but...

What a deal!

About a year ago I bought a Benchmade 805s at a pawnshop for
$25.00! They were asking 29.95 and I could "only" get them down to
25! When good knives show up at pawnshops most of the people that
work there just see another knife. Maybe one of these days I'll score
that Emerson that I want. ;)

I got a Robert Parrish Survival knife a few years back for $200 - the last one I saw sell on ebay went for $913+.

I got a old horn William Rodgers horsemans knife in very good condition for £7 ($13) years ago and i picked up a Puma rabbiter set at a military show in England last year for £23 ($43).

Last year as I strolled through Wal-mart, they had blister packed Gerber Paraframe/mini-tool gift packs. I walked to the red tag and saw $3.87! I bought all eight of them.

Was in a pawn shop in Denver Colorado in 1986. Walked out some 20 minutes later with a Randall Model #14 Attack in mint condition with sheath for $25.00 dollars. They didnt know what they had and I forced them to eat the tax.

Traded it a couple years later for a gun.... go figure.

at DLT trading company! Not to bad but not compared to these guys deals! "The robbers!!

Truly amazing - I was talking to another member and he sold a Model 14 (carried with him in Afghanistan) for $400. The person who bought it turned around and sold it to a collector for $800. He probably thought he got a bargain! (and did)

If I remember correctly, I only paid 20 bucks for a brand new 550 Griptilian about 3 years ago at a farmers market.

I got an Aitor Ranger for 15 euros.
Not an expensive knife to start with, or a high end one. But it's a decent tool and it most certainly was a decent deal.

Got a Bulldog 5'' 2 blade brown bone folding hunter for $50 at a gun show, they were a hundred bucks everywhere else. Also at another gun show, got an excellent condition Schrade 25OT folding hunter for $20, they were going on Ebay for over $50, sounded like a good deal to me, so I snapped it up. :)

I got one of the few existing Fenwick F1s (licenced copy of Fallkniven F1) for 1000 SEK about 140 USD.
I have only seen two (or was it the same?).

I think the best deal, or should I say "bang for the buck" would have to be my KaBar TDI knives (small and large). These knives are definitely worth waaaay more than you can buy them for! Oh yeah, and I think my BK&T Brute was a Hell of a steal at a hair under 100 bucks. Another knife was worth a Hell of alot more than its asking price.

I got a Buck/Mayo TNT for 99.95 at Gander Mountain. They lost the paperwork on this knife and made a new barcode for 99.95. It sat in the display case for over a year at 259.95. No one was going to buy it at that price. Beleave it or not, I gave it away. To a non knife nut friend of mind. Often, I dream of getting it back! I think I can do it!! :D
