What's the cheapest knife that stopped your search for the ideal EDC?

I've had the same Victorinox Camper in my pocket for the past 4 or 5 years, always gets the job done, I wash it every week and oil it every once in awhile, if you take care of your cheap SAK, or any quality knife in general, it will for sure last you a lifetime

Easy choice, the Ontario Rat 2 is my default. :o

For less than 30 bucks, it's impossible to beat.

Nothing will ever stop the search as far as I'm concerned but a $20 Tenacious has been stealing allot of pocket time since I've got it. Also, can't go wrong with the perennial cheap favorite of the Kershaw Skyline for like $25. Next step up for me would probably be Benchmade 552 at like $50 (love the dagger look).

Other then those I've sold most of my cheap stuff, gonna start focusing more on quality then quantity.

If you could direct me to where you buy knives at those prices (through a pm) I would be forever grateful.

Most expensive EDC (actually the most expensive knife i've ever bought) is the ZT 0560. Got it new for $200 Canadian!
But its too big and i don't carry it,lol. I wish they made a version of that with the exact same specs but the size of a Tenacious!
My regular EDC now is a Kershaw Zing, EDC used to be a Spyderco Tenacious before the Zing. The Zing is occasionally switched out for a Boker Trance or a Spyderco Salt 1. All of these i got for under $40 each.
Previously back in the day my primary edc was a Victorinox Huntsman. Still love that knife, love it so much i bought 5 extras. If you watch ebay you can get deals, there was a Canadian guy selling used SAKs, i got 5 Huntsmans from him $10 each. Sadly the guy isn't selling anymore.

I was gonna get one until I discovered the ESEE Zancudo. Basically the same thing as the RAT 2, but a frame lock instead, for the same price. I may still get a RAT 2 anyway. Why not? Cheap enough.

It didn't change my search for the perfect edc knife but the ESEE Zancudo along with the Rat1/2 folders are the best knives under $30 I've ever owned.

Maybe the Izula. It's the cheapest (funds expended) simply because it has stopped me from needlessly buying additional redundant knives in that size category.

Part of the fun of knife collecting is the hunt for the perfect edc blade so I don't think any knife will ever make me stop searching but these two have come pretty close.

Whats the cheapest knife that stopped my search for an ideal EDC ?

I buy all types of knives, but the only one that stopped my search for the ideal EDC was a Sebenza, and that was long before I joined this site.

I got so hot & heavy with the RAT 1 that by the time the RAT 2 came out I just couldn't make the size adjustment. Just a hair small for me.

+1 Ka-bar Dozier for me too... The pink handled one. I bought it as a bit of a gag 5 years ago and it's been with me through more than any other folder I have. Even got me out of handcuffs once

I hope the girl who was involved didn't mind ;)

Lots of good suggestions here. I have begun carrying a modified Svord Peasant lately, and rotating with a Spyderco Salt I, because I have added a carbide glass breaker tip. If I could install a glass breaker tip into the end of my Hogue EX-01, it would be the ultimate for EDC/I-don't-know-what-will-happen-today knife.

I usually don't keep more than one folding knife at a time. I either lose, break, or grow tired of what I have and give it to a friend or relative.

The most expensive knife I ever carried was a Swamp Rat "Rat trap" folder. I actually sold that one for a handsome profit. Felt really heavy in my pocket and liked to come open and bite me. I think I paid $130 for it at a show.

My first good knife was a Spyderco Delica purchased at Magic Mart for around $30, at the time.

I once picked up a Spyderco Native at Walmart for cheap that served me well.

I am currently carrying a black Spyderco Pacific Salt that has held my attention for a few years now. It has done everything from dig in the mud to open envelopes. I think I paid around $75 for it.

I have really been wanting to try out a small sebenza lately, though. Something to carry on my days off work. Don't think that I could bring myself to dig in the mud with a $400 knife.

Lol... She was a sweetie... Oh wait, she was a big burly policeman in another state I was visiting for work who had me in cuffs and was checking my pockets. He found the knife and was giving me the buisness about it. A little bit of quick thinking and slow talkin got me out of cuffs and directions to the best late night dining in the local area. Thank god for pink knives :)
