What's the matter with SOG?

SOG should just stick to making their higher end knives. I have a full size Vulcan, a Tomcat 3.0, a Spec Elite 1, and a Visionary 2. They are all incredible knives that made me look to their 2010 offerings with anticipation....Unfortunately, I agree that their new offerings are a disappointment, with perhaps the exception of the Pendulum. That one looks like it might be interesting.

It's kinda hard to relay or portray certain things through the internet. Jokes are often misunderstood. Intentions are often as well misunderstood. But as long as misunderstandings are cleared up then it should be fine :)

How did you determine that the hole wasn't licensed?

well if they had licensed it why would they have to altar it? for example Yuna knives license the spyderco hole and those are perfectly round like the spyderco. why would these be similar and with that weakening cut out? seems to me as they skirted having to license it.

And any tip up knife will be massacred ;)

What do you have against tip down. You got something againsts me/us :(

Tip down dudes got the right idea, our legs are still baby skin smooth and scar free cause our blades don't pop up while in our pockets. Eat that

Or you is on my side?!?!? I don't know but what's ur problem! If you gotta problem then we take this outside.

Kiddin :D

Once I have the facilities to drill and tap clip holes, tip down is no prob :p

No fun, gotta shoot back, I even made the effort to start the ball rollin :)

But joke aside, I'm a tip down type of guy except for my Tri-ad lock blades and waved enabled type blades (which need to be tip up). If I tip up then the detent has gotta be real good and if it's wave type then I
d be foolish to tip down it.

I had a CRKT M16 opened up in my pocket once, ain't pretty.

The majority of my folders have been wave enabled by me.

No one has mentioned the garish SOG molded into the side of the handle. Like the owner needs to be reminded who made it that much.

I was just about to post that Charlie Mike is going to have a field day with these new ones.

I wouldn't touch any of the SOG folders with a 10m pole. SOG should stick with what it's good at... making heavy duty fixed blades from AUS8.

SOG rocks. I wouldn't carry a Spyderco if ya gave it to me for free! Lol..well, maybe a Temperance or dayhiker or chinook.. nevermind!

Josh, thanks for the heads up regarding Spyderco possibly making a large folder in the 4 to 5 " range. I'll definitely be looking forward to it. And of course they do already make the 43/8' Police 3. Spyderco does seem to be stretching the envelope a bit lately. I just recently bought their new Warrior which is an awesome knife and not of the type I expected from Spyderco.

On another track; I doubt if Sal Glesser is going to be terribly upset about the Sogzillas. People who want Spydercos will buy Spydercos and not a Sog.
I just looked through Sogs new offerings and I'm definitely excited about their new small fixed blades; the Swedges. All three models look very cool to me and I bet I'll buy at least one when they come out. I also like the look of their new Toothlock folder.
The disdain accorded Sog almost seems to match the hostility so often demonstrated towards Cold Steel.
It's interesting that Sal Glesser himself asked members on the Spyderco Forum to discuss other knife companies with some respect, which certainly earns him a lot of points with me.

I just cant stop smiling looking at new sogs :D
this should go as funniest knife of the 2010 .

Excellent reference Larry, wish I'd have thought of using it first. ;)

Questionable tag lines & shiny footprints

Sal really showed maturity and leadership with his post.

It's not just Spyderco, they seem to have been 'strongly influenced' by Benchmade too, although not as bad as Spyderco.

I wish SOG would have just brought back the original Stingray upgraded with the Arc lock.
