What's the matter with SOG?

In looking at the new stuff, only one knife even piques my intrest, and that is the damascus Archtiect, but even that is too rich for my blood.
 
I've decided to put together a little summary of SOG's 2010 lineup as specific models relate to products of other brands.

So when people used to go on about CS copying blade designs, it seems as though their 2010 offering got a generally positive consensus from everyone here. CS may have shed that stigma after much effort, even if most people still don't like Mr. Thompson. It looks like the cheap-copycat-mall-ninja mantle has passed in one fell swoop to SOG. Lets review the new SOG models that so closely resemble those already made by Spyderco and Benchmade.

Round 1. SOGzilla Small Vs. Spyderco Centofante 3

Out of all 3, would anyone honestly prefer the SOG version to it's "Competitors" ??? I guess people who love recurves.

well SOG is an acronym for special observation group.

they sure did observe spyderco and benchmade.
 
From those comparisons, it looks like sog is "re inventing the wheel" (cheaply,too).:barf:
 
Maybe "Stopped Offering Goodness" :D

I'll still be grabbing a Fusion 'hawk but other than that I don't much care for anything they offer these days. :o

Yeah, I saw that, but I think it resembles the FRN Endura 4 way more than the G-10 Delica. The FRN-like material, the length of the blade and the saber grind resemble the FRN Endura much more. I think posting pictures for those that may be new to knives and are just seeing this thread might be helpful.

Thanks for your opinion winbag. The most direct form of disapproval is not purchasing a product that you don't like for whatever reason. And not recommending it to others. Bashing a company based on incomplete information and conjecture, at least IMO, is not leaving shiny footprints.

A lack of response from SOG in their forum or here seems sufficient. It doesn't seem like a large leap to know that they've made a blatant knock off of the Endura at least.
