What's the most expensive knife you have?

Rob Simonich Custom Aurora. S30V. My most treasured knife. Priceless.

That I've actually paid for? Would have to be my Strider GB.

Actually, at some point this year I'm keen to drop some cash on an RJ Martin Devastator, and next year it's looking like a Jot Singh Khalsa... Both worth every penny to me, but I'm not even trying to think about how much they cost.

Of course, after that, I'll have to see what's what. Honestly, the most expensive knives I usually have are the ones that sit in the box and don't get carried.

Update:

My three most expensive knives are Strider SMF ($475), Chris Reeve Large Classic Sebenza ($385), and William Hentry Titan Westcliff ($320).

My next two expensive purchases will be a Tom Mayo TNT (around $800), and a John W Smith titanium framelock with a G-10 onlay (around $500). I am going to hold off a bit on the Firetac because I decided I wanted the TNT and Smith more.

I also want a Chris Reeve Mnandi, Protech Godfather (Ivory Micarta), and Microtech Makora in the near future.

Since I am a user rather than a collector, I currently have nothing among my Bark Rivers, Benchmades, Bucks, SAKs, LMs, Ka-Bars or various puukkos, that cost me more than $200.00.

If I beat one up, or, God forbid, break one in half, I just want to cuss, not cry.:D There is no such thing as a "queen" in my safe. My "serious" money also goes to guns, where I have cracked four figures several times now.

I can appreciate knives as "art," but there is something fundamentally wrong about a knife, or a gun for that matter, which will never be used as defined.

I am a user too. I collect users, and I use all of my knives. I will use my TNT when I get it.

I would rather buy and use an $800 knife and then lose it rather than have never got to own it at all. I enjoy use high-end knives. I do not fear using them because much of the reason they costs so much is because they are such great users, and so damn hard to break.

I agree with you about "art knives". I am not into knives purely as display pieces. But what some might consider too pretty to use, and thus a pure display knife, I might beat the hell out of. What you may consider an art knife, I might consider a very pretty beater.

The more I paid for it, the more I will use it and the harder I will use it.

It is the cheapo knives that I don't want to use as often, and feel like I have to baby. They are the ones that are less fun to use and in greater danger of breaking.

I would rather spend more on a knife than on a gun because a knife is the most useful tool- Period. A gun is pretty much useless to me and no where near as worthy as a knife.

Mark Terrell Typhoid XL. Regular Typhoids sold for over 300 bills and this one was a one off. Now that Typhoids are no longer being made this is truly a one off collectors piece.

I've paid more for other knives but I think this one would bring the most IF I were to sell it.

Scott Cook custom:
customknife

If I remember right, Scott made that for me for $125
