whats the most you ever paid for a knife?

I have a $100 limit. Any more than that and I think Id be scared of scratching it or losing it.

Cheers, Scott.

$400 for my TNK GPS Sm JYD

I dont think i will really be going over that any time soon

$620 for a NIB 3" XM-18 flipper with brown scale. I am insane. But it's comforting in a strange sort of way to know that many of you share my insanity.

P.S. Please don't tell the Misses. She might just use it on me!!

Seeing later Posts about "users"...

This is also one of the knives I plan on EDC-ing. I have a few other premium (to me at least) knives (e.g., Sebenza, Strider) that are in my collection that make it into the rotation too. It makes me happy when I carry them, and Life is too short to not grab some of that happiness every day. If something happens to one, so be it. It's not a person. It's just a thing. At first I thought differently, but now I'm in the camp that they really are meant to be used. But that's just me. I'm sure if I had some REALLY expensive / rare blades, I would want to keep them safe like artwork. But then again, where would we be if the Mona Lisa were locked away where no one could see her. What's the point in that?

Almost 500 for a Rodent Waki that has been used, and definitely dont regret it. Bussekin is worth every penny.

Every price point has it's reaction. And once you pass it the next one beckons...
The truth!

Though an avid outdoorsman, my father was never too obsessed with knives. If it was a chunk of steel that the Lansky could get it sharp enough to process a deer, he was more than content. I, on the other hand, was hooked from the day he gave me my first SAK. I babied the heck out the first folder I spend $25 on. Many years later and thanks to these very forums, I learned that what I thought was the most amazing knife in the world was actually better served as a paperweight. Thus began my hobby.

To date, my largest purchase has been $225 for a Bark River Fox River.
Okay, it was $175, but I had them do a matching firesteel as well. ;)

For me the most is probably $450 CAD for a standard Strider SnG. The one as my avatar.

I paid $400 USD, but shipping/customs and conversion fees brought it up to a total of $450 CAD.

The title says it all, whats the most $ you ever gave for a knife?

I just recently started buying higher end knives so mine would be $127 for a new ZT 0200.

Around $200.00-$250.00 a couple of times. Usually it's around 75-100ish.

100.00 for a Hen an Rooster Bowie. Thats the most I have ever spent on a knife. 2nd would be 72.00 for a Ontario tak. 3rd was the Izaula and that was the best deal I have spent on a knife. I love that Izula.

$900 for a "1 of 1" Unique Korth Ikoma Bali (similar to the one pictured, but sculpted green handles):

I'm a cheapo but so far the most expensive has been my busse skeleton warden for 172.00 2nd place goes to my swamprat ratmandu for 140.00 and i'm going to get my moneys worth out of them this deer season.

The most I think i've spent is around 1500.00, I have spent alot more in one day than I care to remember.

Around $360 for a Busse BWM and I never once thought it was overpriced. I prefer to keep my knife purchases well under $200 otherwise.

I've paid around $200-250 for a couple of custom or semi-custom knives. I've seen a few others that really appealed to me at higher price points, but I just never could talk myself into spending much more.

$300.00 each for my Paul knives with the Damascus blades (3), $600.00 each for the Paul Defenders customized by Painted Pony.
$800.00 for Bench Made Gold class (Model# 750-101, #8/200).

Worth every penny.
