Here are three ones I use and I made them all

huh interesting blade there Pit.

To be honest buddy now days I use knives in the kitchen fat more than I use them outdoors so why not get a good strong food prep knife such as this and carry it hiking/Camping just in case. I think unless you are doing some serious detailed wood carving it would work just fine.

For me, "camp" means 4 season backpacking or ski touring in wet New England.

On overnight trips, I carry a shelter and a stove of some sort (Svea 123, Trangia, Emberlit depending) and on winter day trips, I'll generally carry the Emberlit.

The dramatically reduces the need for heavy cutting tools. Standard carry is a folding knife (usually an Opinel) and a tiny Leatherman PS4 (for gear repair and 1st aid).

Just got back from spending a few nights in Sequoia National Park. Hiked out about 6 miles before setting up camp in between two beautiful lakes. Anyways was the first chance to try out some new toys: my kit knife and my modified sog hand axe. I don't have any pics of them in the field as I was most likely having to much fun, but here is some pics from unpacking. I did the leather myself so go easy! I know both blades and sheaths are not perfect but they work for me

Busse anniversary straight handle Battle mistress. The knife I always wanted. Got it about 6 weeks ago and I love it, it's an awesome user, bit big for some people but suits me.
